There’s A New Park In Jurong West With A 3-Storey Net Playground & Rain Garden For Families To Explore

Bulim Park in Jurong West

Calling all Westies, there’s a new park in your area. The west section of Bulim Park in Jurong West has just opened, and it’s perfect if your New Year’s resolutions are to go out and spend more time with your family.

The entire park is expected to be as big as 14 football fields with play areas, food options, and other attractions for a family-friendly day out. But for now, here’s what you can look forward to in the west section.

Where is Bulim Park?

Bulim Park is split along Bulim Avenue into a west and east section. The park will also feature a sky corridor once it’s completed, which will connect to Bulim Square, a manufacturing district within the larger Jurong Innovation District.

What can you see & do at the west section of Bulim Park?

3-storey net playground

There’s nothing more fun for kids than climbing on play structures. This 3-storey net playground is a sheltered playground that features nets, rope bridges, and a slide for kiddos. And parents, don’t worry. The sides of the playground are also covered in nets that can’t be climbed, which keeps kids safe from accidental falls. For an extra safety precaution, remind them to wear shoes instead of slippers.

Rain garden & boardwalk

Take your time to walk along the cantilevered boardwalk and admire the rain garden. You’ll also spot a detention pond, which controls the flow of rainwater to prevent flooding, all while providing a scenic view.

Since the boardwalk isn’t sheltered, we recommend enjoying your stroll in the morning or evenings to avoid the afternoon sun.

Play areas & fitness corners

Even in the heart of the Jurong Innovation District, the play areas and fitness corners in the park take their cues from nature. Children can look forward to playing on the balancing logs, stepping trucks, and rock-climbing mounds. There’s no single “main” playground here, so kids are free to explore the many play areas and pretend they’re adventuring through different worlds and terrains.

Although it’s not fully completed, Bulim Park will be connected to Bulim Square via the Sky Corridor. This 1.1km section of the corridor will give you a bird’s-eye view of everything the park has to offer. The completed Sky Corridor is expected to be 11km long and will span across the Jurong Innovation District.

How to get to the west section of Bulim Park?

Boon Lay MRT Station is the closest MRT station to the west section of Bulim Park, but you will still need to take a 35-minute walk to get there.

Alternatively, take buses 181 and 185 to Block 276B along Jurong West Avenue 3. The west section of the park is around a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Visit the west section of Bulim Park this weekend

Whether you work in Jurong West or live all the way in Hougang, the west section of Bulim Park is definitely worth a visit if you want to bring your kids to the newest park in Singapore – even if it’s pretty much at the far end of the West.
