Heads up alpaca lovers, you don’t have to fly to far-off places to pet the fluffy creatures. As Clouds Cafe has opened just 30 minutes from the Causeway, in Johor Bahru! Here’s all you need to know about this quirky yet exciting cafe.
For the uninitiated, Alpacas are a pair of woolly animals native to South America. They’re more commonly found in countries like Bolivia, Peru, and Chile, as they’re used to the high altitudes and cool climate there.

This JB animal cafe has taken in 2 alpacas – sisters Coco and Melon – as residents of the cafe. Due to the exotic nature of these fluffy residents, the air-conditioning is kept very cool, and they are given frequent trims to their wools to prevent them from trapping in the Malaysian heat when they go out for walks.
Lastly, if you’re also concerned about potential odours, it seems that there aren’t any of the associated smells that come with the animals, so you can rest assured that you’ll definitely be able to enjoy your meal here.
Is there an entry fee or minimum spending requirement to visit this As Clouds Cafe?
Located in Skudai, As Clouds Cafe is free-for-all, meaning there are no entry fees or tickets required. You won’t have to worry about booking ahead of your visit too, since all you’ll have to do is walk in and order a food or drink item off their menu.

The long, narrow alpaca cafe in JB is decked out in simple grey tones, with its namesake clouds doubling up as lights. That’s not all: these cute lamps “float” up and down, much like cotton wool-puffs of clouds up in the sky.
Seats line one wall of the cafe, with half of the other side occupied by bar stools, with a single aisle down the space for the alpacas to freely roam.

If you’re here for the ‘Gram, make sure to get seated on the boucle armchairs by the full-length windows at the front of the cafe. More suited for drinks and light bites, these armchairs are paired with statement coffee tables sporting elegant white-and-grey marble-esque tops, and fluted column legs.
That’s not all━the pebbled floor completes the minimalist grey look, so you and the alpacas are sure to be the star of any photos you take.
