Tampines 1 Level 3 revamp
Much like those up in the North-East, Easties are absolutely blessed when it comes to the amount of shopping haunts they can hit up. You’d be hard-pressed not to find a mall within walking distance here – and then we have the multiple in Tampines alone.
The 3 malls have been a stalwart inclusion throughout my 27 years living in the East, ever-changing and growing beside me. Tampines 1’s Level 3 has received a major revamp, and you’ll now be able to shop at your usual faves as well as spot several new inclusions to the mall’s directory. Here’s what you can expect when you swing by for a visit in the near future.
1. Box Hunt
Huge range of blind boxes & other hobby-related finds like TCG

We all know how rabid Singaporeans can get whenever cute ling ling long longs are involved; thankfully, you’ll be able to get your fair share of bits and bobs at Box Hunt. Here, blind boxes stretch to as far as the eye can see, so you can bet good money that you’ll find one from your favourite IP.

If the stock at their other outlets are anything to go by, you’ll be able to snag blind boxes from franchises such as Butterbear, Winnie the Pooh, Sanrio, and Smiski to name a few. There’ll be tables in-store dedicated to trading and game sessions, making Box Hunt a go-to hangout spot for TCG fans. Plus, their Facebook page prominently features products from both the One Piece and Pokémon trading card games.
From what we’ve heard, Box Hunt’s Tampines 1 outlet is celebrating their reopening with a Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotion on their blind boxes, so if you’d like to add some heft to your collection, you know where to head. If you’re into console gaming as well, don’t miss out on the shop’s selection of Nintendo Switch titles.

2. Geláre
Popular dessert spot with ice cream waffles, croffles & milkshakes
For a sweet treat, look no further than Geláre. The dessert parlour needs no introduction; with 5 other locations across the country, it’s clear that their yummy confections have won the hearts and taste buds of many.

They’re known for their freshly-baked waffles (from $9.90) which are satisfyingly crisp on the outside, while still being light and fluffy on the inside. What’s more, each waffle comes with a sinful dollop of rich, creamy ice cream that’s made with less than 5% air for a denser texture and a punch of flavour that’s nothing short of addictive.

Also on the menu are a slew of croffles (from $6.90), sundaes (from $9.10), and milkshakes (from $7.90) to reward yourself with after an honest day of work.
To mark new beginnings, Geláre’s Tampines 1 outlet will be bringing diners 4 weeks of 1-for-1 specials when they open. Bring a buddy and head down to double up on treats such as waffles, single-scoop ice creams, coffee and mocktails, and croffles.

K-Pop fans, you’re in luck. Tampines 1 now has a one-stop shop for all your K-Pop needs in KPOP HOUSE. It’s one of the mall’s newest openings, and will begin welcoming visitors at the end of October, but don’t let that stop you from putting together your wishlist.
Plenty of time to get your light sticks ready for when LE SSERAFIM & BABYMONSTER pay Singapore a visit later this year.

Expect the store to stock the latest albums from the hottest K-Pop artists, from chart-topping heavy hitters like CORTIS, LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and ATEEZ. You’ll be able to shop for merch from your favorite groups too, such as light sticks, trinkets, and apparel to make sure your get-up is completely concert-ready. The store will also have a dedicated space for fan-held events, so keep an eye out for upcoming celebrations of your fave idol groups.

BTW, we’ve received word that KPOP HOUSE will be having a storewide discount of 8%, a promotion which runs from when they open till 31st December 2026. While you’re there, check out STiiKERS, a sticker customisation experience straight from Korea. KPOP HOUSE is one of the first few establishments in Singapore to offer this service.
It allows you to customise photo stickers with various K-Pop idol group logos and other cute graphics, and the printed sticker sheet creates mini versions of yourself so you can stick it on photo cards as if you’re posing with your idol bias!

4. FUNCLAW & ORODOKI
Claw machine & gachapon galore
Have a go at winning exciting prizes at FUNCLAW & ORODOKI. The store is pretty much packed with rows of claw machines, each filled with prizes itching to be won; in particular, the adorable Pokémon plushies and squishies looked mighty enticing. If you’re game, you’ll want to first get some tokens at the nearby token dispensing machine, which spits them out at the following rates:
- $2 for 2 tokens
- $5 for 6 tokens
- $10 for 12 tokens
- $50 for 65 tokens
The first-ever FUNCLAW Redemption Vending Machine has been launched exclusively at the Tampines 1 outlet, where you can instantly turn your points into prizes for on-the-spot collection.

For a sure-win experience, the store also has a healthy assortment of gachapon machines. Similarly, you’ll have to swap IRL moolah for tokens for a spin; although the exchange rates are identical to the claw games’ token dispensing machines, be sure to get your tokens from the right machine as they cannot be used interchangeably.
We spotted gachapon series from a wide variety of popular anime, from Jujutsu Kaisen to Kuroko no Basuke. For some reason, they’ve stocked plenty of machines that featured Crayon Shin-Chan, including ones with the titular character donning superhero outfits from DC and Marvel Comics.
