Some of us grew up playing Sonic games on our Nintendo consoles, while others developed a passion for the beloved character after watching him on the big screen. There has never been a lack of family-friendly activities at i12 Katong, and this Christmas the mall is bringing a Sonic-themed event in celebration of the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie premiere.
At Christmas With Sonic 2024, you can look forward to a fun and thrilling obstacle course for kids, meet-and-greet sessions with a Sonic mascot, and an array of limited edition merch up for grabs. Happening from now till 31st December, here’s what you can expect:
Conquer Sonic’s obstacle challenge & meet him IRL
Calling out the adventurous kiddos who love a challenge, i12 Katong will be organising an adrenaline-packed Sonic Obstacle Challenge from 7th to 22nd December, for kids aged 3 and above. With elements similar to those in Ninja Warrior, there will be an exciting lineup of obstacle stations waiting for you to test your agility, balance, and coordination skills.

The stations include Bosu Ball, Sea Of Rings, Quintuple Steps, and the Sea Of Swings. As your kids attempt these obstacles, they will be balancing on bouncy balls, conquering a ring climb, and swinging from platform to platform. These stations are meant to simulate Sonic’s environment filled with excitement, testing your children’s speed and stamina.

Thereafter, your kid will be clearing the Jumping Stones, Balancing Path, and Floating Bridge obstacles. We won’t spoil too much of the fun, but your kiddo will definitely have a blast journeying through the stations, and a sense of accomplishment that’ll have them feeling as heroic as Sonic himself.

After clearing all the stations, you will be awarded with an exclusive limited edition Sonic character badge with various designs such as Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Miles Prower AKA Tails. It’s the perfect little medal of honour for your agile kiddo, and makes for a prized collectible. Other than the badge, your child could also nab a cool Shadow Visor – these will be given at random upon completion of the obstacle course.
There will also be meet-and-greet sessions with Sonic himself, on Saturdays and Sundays between the period of 7th-29th December 2024. The timing of the sessions are 2.30pm-3pm and 4.30pm-5pm, and if you didn’t get a chance to meet the Sonic mascot, you can still explore the Sonic Fan Experience area on Level 2.
Snap up a tonne of pics with photo ops featuring the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie display, and get your hands on cool Sonic merch such as glow-in-the-dark tees. You can even try the shirts on in the special dark room to immediately witness how the fluorescent characters glow!
Redeem limited edition merch while doing some retail therapy
From now till 31st December 2024, you’ll be able to redeem a slew of goodies. For starters, get a free Sonic Obstacle Challenge Pass when you spend a minimum of $50 at any retail or F&B outlet in i12 Katong.

If you spend $150, you’ll be entitled to the challenge pass as well as a limited edition Sonic EZ-Link card – complete with $2 value inside – worth a total of $15 (limited to 500 redemptions), and a chance to participate in a grand lucky draw.
Those who spend $300 will get additional limited edition Sonic merch worth $18 (limited to 300 redemptions), and a pair of movie premiere tickets to Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (limited to 200 redemptions), on top of the previous redemptions plus lucky draw entry. These goodies are getting snapped up fast, so hurry down if you want to redeem them while stocks last.

The grand lucky draw prize is none other than a 6D5N trip to Shikoku, with air tickets and accommodation worth a total of $6,000. Those making redemptions from Mondays to Thursdays will receive a $5 F&B voucher and an additional chance at the lucky draw.
