Boasting a sweet, sour, and spicy flavor, a bowl of salad clams (VND199,000, ~USD8.78) mixed with lemongrass, ginger, and garlic, makes a mouthwatering appetizer for two.

Moist and savory, balut stir fried with sweet and sour tamarind (VND24,000, ~USD1.06) is an equally tasty treat to whet your appetite.

If you’re in for a challenge, we recommend you give rare octopus (from VND50,000, ~USD2.21) a try. You can have the squids with kumquat-flavored vinegar sauce, or have your dish well-done by dipping the squid into a steaming pot of kimchi soup.

For a more bizarre dish, try the iconic Thai street dish goong ten, which means dancing shrimp salad. Featuring raw shrimps served with fresh herbs, this dish is definitely not for the faint of heart.

There’s a self-service counter where you can find seven types of homemade dipping sauces, from the super spicy ones filled with chilli to the lemony, fresh herb sauce to jazz up your dishes.

Our only advice is that you should check with the wait staff about the dishes before placing your order, because many of these are medium-cooked and not suitable for all. Besides, most of these dishes are seasoned with chilli and hot spices, so don’t hesitate to tell the wait staff about your preferences if you have a low threshold for spicy stuff.

For tasty drinks to combat the spiciness and beat the heat, check out the restaurant’s mildly sweet fruit beer, which costs VND149,000, (~USD6.57) for 1.5 litres.
