This place is forever crowded with people, and for a good reason. It offers many bite sized stores that sell clothing, food and accessories. Many of the items on offer are the "in thing" and appeal to the many teenagers that frequent the place. The offerings are pretty cheap, too.

The place is not very well organised, with the walking lanes narrow and the food and clothes stores are too close to each other (I mean, talk about the cooking smell clinging onto the clothes). The price is not an issue here, I always buy fruit juice and some random clothes from here;it's a cool place.

Singapore's Uniquely 'Chatuchak' Market

Bugis street is a well-known shopping paradise for the teenagers in Singapore. It is also one of the popular tourist attractions.

Bugis street has been my favourite place to shop at as it has a variety of items on sale, ranging from food to apparel to accessories. Apart from the vast array of items sold, the dime-store goods is also the reason why Bugis street has attracted me.  However cheap the good may already be, you can still try your luck at bargaining for even lower prices.

All in all, Bugis street is a must-go. Only then can you understand why I call it a shopping paradise!

I love Bugis Street. It is a fashion heaven for girls who need wallet-friendly places (like me). Bugis Street sells all the clothes in trend. They have practically any type of clothes -though whether or not you find what you want really depends on your luck.

I would admit though that, despite the prices, the quality isn't very fantastic, but decent enough. So, I would recommend shopping here if you choose quantity over quality. As a girl, I understand that feeling of not wanting to be seen in the same clothes over and over, so I rather have that wide variety of trendy clothes, than a few boring but comfortable clothes.

Not only are clothes the hype, but I'm sure that one particular smell on the second floor induces drooling in most patrons. Ned's Crepe, you can smell the aroma shops away. They sell a variety of crepes -Crispy and soft, Dessert and Savoury. I fell in love with the crispy strawberry and nutella crepe. It is sweet, a little sour (in a good way), crispy and so fragrant. My other favourite is the chocolate marshmallow crepe. As it is made over a hot metal pan, expect the warm marshmallows to melt in your mouth. Absolutely terrific. Again, it is also wallet-friendly.

Overall, Bugis Street is a really amazing place is you want to save your wallet while shopping. It is best to go on weekdays though because the crowds on weekends are a terrible turn-off.

Bugis Village is my idea of shopping paradise.

I first started shopping at Bugis when I was in secondary school, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love the fact that the clothes there fit me (I’m 156cm) and they’re so trendy and affordable. The most satisfying part about shopping at Bugis Street is scoring great deals (e.g. 2 for $15) when I search the sales section. So never pass up a sale corner – no matter how bad the clothes look, try visualising how you’d look if you wore it! You might get lucky!

The only thing I absolutely hate about Bugis Street is the crowd during the weekends. It’s a complete turn-off, because it’d impossible to move properly, let alone do any shopping! So my advice is to go during weekdays! Oh yes, remember to try out the street snacks while you’re there! My favourite is the crispy pancake at the first floor – the one with sausage, egg and cheese is heavenly!

I LOVE THIS PLACE.

I'm 24 and I hold a full time job as an office worker, plus part time as a dancer. The diversity needed in my wardrobe is crazy and I hate wearing pieces over and over again.

Bugis Street whets my appetite for new clothes. The quality here used to be terrible but over the years it's generally improved - you just need to cut off the stray threads from certain pieces. You can get great buys for $10-$25 and they have everything you'd need; including dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories. Certain shops usually update their stocks weekly - so they're always updated with the latest trends.

Plus, if you get hungry there's I Love Taimei around the corner and fresh fruit juices for cheap too.

That said, they don't really cater to plus sizes and most of the apparel are free sized.

My favourite shopping place! Cheap, nice, fashionable, lots of variety and just so wonderful! Bugis street is somewhere that i go to very often even though i live in the west. All my friends simply love to go shopping at Bugis street as well! The main reason for this is basically because all its clothes are so cheap and affordable and yet so nice too! And there are just so many apparels and designs to choose from!

Bags, shoes, tops, dresses, outerwear, accessories, skirts, food, juices, fruits, handphones covers, stationeries... anything you need and want in your life, bugis street got them, at an unbelievably cheap price too! Tops and dresses for just $10, even their denim shorts are just $10 as well! If you are worried that it would be all girls’s stuffs and nothing to shop for guys, you are wrong! Bugis street have a whole street down that are full of guy’s shirts, button shirts, berms and jeans! Most of their stocks are new in as well, which meant that the clothes you buy at bugis street would always be in that trend!

One bad thing however is that there are no fitting room and usually one size fit all. Hence if you are of a bigger size, bugis street may not be the shopping paradise for you. You would also need to really estimate your waist size if you are buying a bottom wear as you can’t try clothes on. But it is not that bad! Most shops allow you to change your bottoms if you cannot fit into them! It will only be of a little bit of hassle but its okay since the prices are so cheap!
