For starters, I'm not a fan of their soups just because I find it to be on the bland side. I however like their ceasar mushroom wrap! It's light and tasty, although S$9 for a chicken wrap is slightly pricey.

This is more about the bad service I went through one evening. Soup spoon is free seating, but any self-respecting customers would form a line especially if there was only one narrow entrance to the shop. I arrived to a lady waiting at the entrance so I naturally assumed the position behind her. Another teenage boy and his mother (just a guess) came after me but decided to go around the lady in front me and I and scurry for places inside.

None of the staff who witnessed this happening stopped them. In fact they helped them look for tables! I just stood there dumbfounded, engaging in my own pity-party. I got a table and my wrap in the end but also ended up feeling like a really stupid customer.

The Happiness Meal for Soup Broth Asia Noodle Bar costs $12.80. It includes Vietnamese Braised Chicken Noodles, Side Salad, Iced Milk Tea.

Vietnamese Braised Chicken Noodles is served in quite a big plate. It looks like crispy fried noodles on egg flower sauce, topped with a huge grilled chicken leg. It reminds me of the typical ‘shen mian’ by the zhi char stalls. The chicken is quite tender with the meat easily tears from the bone. The only disappointment is the sauce which is very salty and starchy.

The Side Salad is served with the dressing separated. Tastes quite green by itself but when mixed with the dressing, it tastes quite tangy and refreshing with a hint of fish sauce and lime juice. The Iced Milk Tea is quite forgettable as it is not as milky as I like.

Overall the food is still okay and is served quite fast.

The soup spoon used to be my favourite “soup” place. However, it is now placed second on my list after I found Souperlicious. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve no complaints with soup spoon. They sell very tasty pumpkin and mushroom soups which are thick and creamy yet not overwhelming. Also, their serving size is also pretty generous. I would recommend for 2 people to share a bowl! However, it is just that they met a stronger competitor. For someone who loves soup, I would recommend Souperlicious instead. The soups at Souperlicious taste much fresher and appetizing.

Soup Spoon offers take home packs as well for some of their popular soups. During lunch time, their outlet can get pretty crowded with office ladies given that it is a healthier option. Recently, Soup Spoon has also opened a sister outlet named Soup Broth which sells Chinese brewed soups, It seems to be pretty popular with the office crowd as well!

For someone who is new to Soup Spoon, I would recommend you to try out their Crusty Pot Pies. It is basically just the soup of your preferred choice covered with a pastry crust . A pretty unique way to enjoy your soup!

The Soup Spoon sells soup that comes with bread. Do not underestimate the amount that the store provides because just with a bowl of soup and bread, one can be really very filling after eating that. Though the variety of soup is not a lot, but the quality of their soup can satisfy many hungry and picky stomachs. Despite the few variety, the store still offers soups ranges from western, to chinese, which will likely to suit the taste of customers.

If one want to go healthy, he or she can choose to consume soups with lower calories like 'Tokyo Chicken Stew' and Roasted Pumpkin'. I personally like the 'Simon and Garfunkel Chicken Ragout' because this soup contains of a lot of ingredient. Basically every mouth of soup, you can actually feel the mouthful of ingredients that is together with the soup. The soup is kind of thick and the ingredients inside are fresh and delicious. It will be very filling.

Another good thing about this store is that you are offer a member and for every 5 dollars you spent, you will accumulate points and this points can be exchanged for money during the next purchase. So I find it very worthwhile to dine in here and enjoy the soups they provide.
