When you're in the mood for a nice and sumptuous Western inspired meals, head on over to Breeks. Because at Breeks, we are committed to preparing and serving food of uncompromising freshness and quality - with signature favorites like Rib-Eye Steak, Cajun Blackened Fish and of course, our well-loved Classic and Premium Brownies. Breeks offers simple, casual and delicious dining for both the young, and young at heart.
The fish and chips surprised me. In a bad way. The fish was most likely frozen fish and the batter was so heavy. I like fish and chips that are light and fluffy. Definitely not this. I could walk to Holland Village market and get better fish and chips for 1/3 or 1/4 the price. This place is not only expensive, but not impressive at all. Just below average Western food at bad prices. Service was average. The store was clean and felt comfortable though, that's the saving factor of Breeks. If you are truly looking for a good place to have Western food at, I would not recommend visiting Breeks. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here again!
It was really quiet and i do know how they survive because the restaurant is always pretty empty when i pass by it. The huge posters of Caucasians smiling and chilling was what attracted me to Breeks because i thought that the food would taste more American and i would feel relaxed eating there. It was indeed relaxing because it was quiet but the price did not make me feel relaxed. I wouldn't be going there anytime soon.
It wasn't exactly located indoors. It was placed outside but still equipped with air-con and conjoined with Marina Square. We were ushered to our seats and given the menu. The service was definitely efficient. The grilled chicken arrived faster than frying eggs could! I was massively impressed. My mother ordered something that includes a bowl of free chicken soup. Personally, I wasn't a fan of soups. However, something about it's display and the smell that it exuded, lured me to grab a nearby teaspoon and scoop the soup contents up! I tasted it with one gulp. The slice of chicken that was sprinkled into the soup was truly a a brilliant fusion with the seasoned soup! I found myself scraping the base of the bowl savouring every last remaining drip of soup. It made delicious an understatement. It even converted me into a fan of soups!
Additionally, the entire Breeks crew bid farewell to all of us in unison when we left the area after making our tummies satisfied and contented! Truly remarkable. We were bricked with a memorably impressed impression.
The service is not bad. generally the staff is kind and served us well. The food was cooked in good time. Not too long or short.
As for the ambiance, I give a shake of my head. I went to Breeks at Anchorpoint and Habourfront centre, and in both areas the restaurant is situated in a very open area, in the middle of the shopping paths. I feel very uncomfortable dining in Breeks and would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a quiet ambiance.,
We got a table after waiting for few minutes. The menu did not have a lot of items so we were able to decide on the items we wanted. Anyway, my children only knew fish and chips from western food menu. We asked for plain water when ordering our food and it was only after reminding the staff that we finally got our water. The staff was really disorganised.
The best part was that they served the food without bringing the utensils. My daughter asked me are we expected to eat with our hands. I got the attention from the waiter only after a while and needed to wait for a while longer before our utensils were brought to us. I also noticed the same thing happening to the table besides me.
Food was not exactly great and prices were rather high between $20-$30. For that price, I would expect better quality and better tasting food. The burger was nice though. I would suggest anyone to only visit there if there was a 1 for 1 promotion or something similar.
There is nothing special or fantastic about the food at Breeks; the pasta (spaghetti bolognaise) was average, the dessert was average; everything was average in fact. My stomach was thoroughly bored that day.
At the price I had to pay, I definitely expected much more from Breeks. There are so many other places that offer better food at even better prices, so I strongly urge Breeks to improve on its food. For a veteran who has been in the industry for such a long time, Breeks really does not fail to disappoint.
I visited the one at Causeway Point, ordered the Fish n Chips.
It tasted okay and my friend said the western food stall in the coffeeshop just below his block can make something like that. I have to agree.
Another thing is their seats, I remember sitting on the cushioned seat but it has a split. When I visited they are still considered new, so how on earth did they get the split so soon?
I ordered a beef and chicken grill set with fries. The beef and chicken were passable and the mushroom sauce helped complement the meat. In fact the meal was so mediocre that there wasn't anything worth remembering.
I don't think I'd every try Breeks if not for the 1 for 1 offer. The usual price of their main courses are quite pricey for food of such standard.
Back in their heyday, Breeks used to be what Billy Bombers is to us today, an American diner. Today, however, it is a wannabe-restaurant where service staff with sub-par customer service skills work and where overcooked, overpriced, and virtually tasteless food gets served to customers looking for something more.
There is nothing I can't find on the menu at Breeks that I can't find at Billy Bomber's or Jack's Place and pay roughly around the same price.
