Located in the iconic Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Wonders of Nature is the New Art Museum Singapore’s latest immersive experience tailored for children of every age. Yes, you read that right; even kids might find this particular art exhibition enthralling, considering it resembles a giant artsy playground. In fact, children below 7 years of age enter for free. For everyone else, the entrance fee is $18/pax.

Split into 5 captivating sections, the exhibit showcases art pieces by international artists. Visitors can delight in a plethora of interactive installations and immersive projections that aim to inspire and educate regarding the importance of natural environments in a fun way.

FYI, the entire exhibition has been carefully curated by local creative director Warren Wee, who generally has a passion for NFTs and Web 3.0.

What to expect at Wonders of Nature

With fond memories of visiting the zoo as a child, Jackson Tan is a local artist and founder of Art-Zoo, who has created these giant inflatable cacti that visitors can interact with. The one on display is called “Canyon of Cuddles”, featuring hugging cacti and an inflatable ball pit one can sink into.

Also on display are animal sculptures that resemble pretty and colourful cakes. These have been created by Japanese decorative artist Osamu Watanabe, who is known for his “fake cream art.” Basically, he skilfully turns artificial food materials into edible-looking treats.

In the same zone, known as “Animal Kingdom,” you’ll find paintings by 2 other Japanese artists – Yuji Kanamura and Go Yayanagi.

Projection rooms are all the rage at art exhibitions, and this one is no exception. Step into a room – or should we say Ancient Aquarium – to see projections of marine life, crated by Masato Inagaki and Go Ogawa.

The Imagination Room is where kids and adults can let their creativity shine. Grab a bunch of chalks and write or draw on the black walls, leaving your thoughts for all else to see.

While you’re there, catch the Waga Waga Cafe pop-up selling their craft matcha drinks and wagashi, a traditional Japanese sweet.
