It hasn’t been long since we left 2021 in the dust, and in a blink of an eye we’re already getting ready for the Chinese New Year festivities. UOL malls are offering you the chance to usher in 2022 with a whole lot of huat.
From redeeming uniquely-designed cookware to winning hotel stays and dining vouchers at the Instant Spin & Win, here’s what you can get up to before chu yi starts at UOL malls like KINEX, United Square, and Velocity@Novena Square.
Pen cai is one of the quintessential CNY reunion dinner dishes, and you’ll always see it served in a gorgeous pot. If you’re the one in charge of said dish for this year, you can wow your family by presenting the pen cai in a unique prosperity bowl or reunion pot.
The cookware was designed by differently-abled artists from the ASPN Chaoyang School that caters towards students with special needs and a keen eye for the artistic.

You can redeem this set by spending a minimum of $388 across five same-day receipts. U-POPP members will get to redeem it with just $288.

Every $88 you spend at their malls ($68 for U-POPP members) will get you six pieces of exclusively-designed red packets and a shot at the Instant Spin & Win^.

Some of the prizes up for grabs include staycations at Pan Pacific Singapore, PARKROYAL Collection Pickering, and PARKROYAL Collection Marina Bay that are perfect for recharging after all the days of bai nian.
More prizes include dining vouchers to the restaurants at the hotels, so if you still have an appetite after snacking on pineapple tarts, it wouldn’t hurt to go for a buffet at Lime or Peppermint Restaurant.

For starters, KINEX will be home to new brands Joyfulness Dining and Osomatsu Japanese Kitchen and Bar. Foodies should also keep an eye out for newly-opened eateries Yogurt Lady and Fitri Creations Halal Bakery, while Beef Bros is set to open in the near future.

Over at Velocity@Novena Square, you’ll also be able to level up your eyewear at Lenskart. Fans of Xin Wang Hong Kong cafes can look forward to the opening of Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe Da Xi at the end of January; you can also fuel up on tasty chicken at newly-opened PO Chicken.

Across the road at United Square, you can make a reservation for your reunion dinner at the newly opened Crown Prince Wine & Dine. For those who prefer japanese food, a new Genki Sushi outlet is slated to open at the end of the month and we can’t wait to head down for some yummy affordable aburi sushi. There’s also the new Liang Yi TCM at Basement 1 of the mall for all your acupuncture needs.
To tempt you even further, shoppers who spend $50 on a single receipt can stand a chance to redeem either a can of abalone or shopping vouchers. Here are the details:
And if you drove down to these shopping malls, just present a receipt showing you’ve spent $30 or more to redeem free 1-hour parking. Electric car drivers who charge their EV at the malls can also enjoy free 1-hour parking and redeem a $10 UOL e-Voucher with $100 spent.
You don’t have to call Paya Lebar home or even stay by the Novena neighbourhood to partake in UOL malls’ Chinese New Year festivities.
