Christmas at UOL Malls 2023
The countdown stands at just about 2 weeks left until Christmas. Have you gotten presents for your loved one yet? If you’re a Grade A procrastinator, chances are, you’re waiting till the last minute before haphazardly putting together items from around your home in a gift bag.
Well, consider this your gentle reminder to get your Christmas shopping done now. We suggest heading to UOL Malls – United Square, Velocity@Novena Square, and KINEX – to do it. Not only are there new stores to shop at, your spending could even win a staycay. Here are the details:
Shop new tenants at UOL Malls
If it’s been a hot minute since you visited any UOL Mall, then it’s time to head back to check out the new tenants available:

Get your munchkins a whole new wardrobe from Little Ground (#01-K12). The children’s clothing brand sells fashionable ‘fits like chambray shirts, Peter Pan-collared blouses, and raglan tees for kids as young as 0 months to 14 years old. They’ve even got accessories like socks and outerwear to complete your kid’s #OOTD.

Pair their new outfits with shoes from KATETU (#B1-72), another new shop at United Square, which sells a diverse range of shoes made for toddlers. This includes cute sandals and Mary Janes for girls and sports shoes for boys to furry booties suitable for winter. Each pair comes with a padded heel and cushioned sole to prevent blisters and make walking comfortable for your little ones.
Velocity@Novena Square

While you might visit Velocity@Novena Square to pick up specialised equipment for extreme sports, make a stop at the newly-opened Tech House (#02-K2) too. They sell gadgets and gizmos aplenty, like protective cases for phones and camera mounts so you can capture all the action you’re putting yourself through.
There’s even Welcia-BHG (#02-30), if you’re thinking of treating yourself to a bit of pampering after a hiking or cycling trip. The Japanese beauty store sells skincare products and health supplements imported from Japan.

Look out also for Zotelier (#02-22) for those looking to clean up after a muddy adventure. The fashion retailer sells indigo and batik wear in the form of collared shirts, blouses, and bottoms that are ideal for any smart casual EOY gatherings you have planned.
KINEX

Easties, here’s yet another East Side Best Side reason; there’s a bunch of new restaurants opening up at KINEX. This includes A Hot Hideout (#01-45), a mala restaurant that NTU students might recognise from Banyan Hall. Now there’s no need to travel all the way west to savour their fresh ingredients in mala xiang guo and mala soup.
You can even get bburing fries as a side to your chicken.

If the spice proves too much to handle, you might want to head over to BHC Chicken (#B1-36) instead. The famed Korean fried chicken shop is known for their special bburing flavour, which is a blend of cheese, garlic, and onion powders that generously coat each piece of chicken.
If you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, you can always dig into local faves like bak chor mee and laksa from Fu Ji Fishball Noodle (#B1-30). You’ll want to wash all that down with something refreshing, thankfully Ju Fu De Cha (#B1-K2) has just opened up. The bubble tea store focuses on fruity teas like grapefruit and mango teas.
Celebrate Christmas with Robocar Poli & festive bazaars
While you’re out shopping, keep note of these events that are also taking place at the UOL Malls.
Have the kids tag along with you when you visit United Square, especially if they’re fans of Robocar Poli. For one, there’s a photo op right outside the mall featuring characters from the show.

The pics are keepsakes you’ll want to hang on your fridge, but if you want to create core memories for the kiddos then don’t have them miss the chance to meet Poli and the gang. There are Robocar Poli shows happening every day except Tuesday from now till 17th December 2023, where the cast will sing and dance familiar tunes from the show.
If you spend $30 in a single receipt, your kids will even be able to meet the cast at an exclusive meet and greet session. Do note it’s only open to the first 50 families before each show, so you’ll want to ensure you’re early to avoid any disappointment.

You can even sign your kids up for a kids’ workshop. Parents, you’ll need to be a U-POPP member and spend $80 in 3 same-day receipts in order to get a workshop pass for junior. After which, they’ll get to participate in creative crafts like making pom pom collages, glowing bottle dioramas, and Christmas ornaments for your tree. The workshops will take place from 16th-23rd December 2023.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from Santa, and you’ll meet him in the flesh on the weekends of 9th-10th and 16th-17th December 2023 at 1pm and 4pm. He and his snowman buddy will be roaming around the mall handing out candy – regardless if you’ve been naughty or nice this year.
If you miss Santa at United Square, don’t worry, he’ll also be at Velocity@Novena Square on 16th-17th and 23rd-24th December at 1pm and at KINEX on 24th-25th December at 12pm-2pm.

There’s more happening at KINEX and Velocity@Novena Square too.
From 15th-17th December 2023, have your purchases go towards beneficiaries when you shop at the Charity Marketplace at KINEX. There’ll be handcrafted gifts on sale that’ll be used to raise funds for charity. You’ll even be able to catch performances from special needs kids from Extra•Ordinary People.
There’s also the Wan to Play Christmas Carnival happening from 21st December to 2nd January 2024. Made for kids, the carnival will have a giant inflatable slide and foam snow sessions every 2 hours from 2pm-8pm.
There’ll also be a Christmas Makers Market at KINEX from 29th-31st December 2023. Crafters will be selling their handmade gifts like cards and candles, if you’re looking to get a last minute gift for the holidays.
Over at Velocity@Novena Square, there’s a Festive Bazaar happening from now till 24th December 2023. You’ll want to take note if you’re buying gifts for the sporty people in your life, or maybe if you’re hoping to get a jumpstart on your new year’s resolutions if getting fit is your goal for 2024.
