3. Changi Airport – Intricate animal designs

Chinese New Year is a time for travel, so whether you’re flying out or flying in to visit relatives and friends, pick up some envelopes for free along with your last-minute airport purchases.

When you spend a minimum of $80 at stores like Cheers, McDonald’s, or Fairprice Finest at Changi Airport and sign up as a Changi Rewards member, you can redeem a packet of intricate animal design angbao packets.

You can also redeem an extra pack if you make your payment through MasterCard or Changi Pay.

Note: Only purchases from selected landside stores will be counted.


4.  National Heritage Board – Collect while museum hopping

Culture vultures can express their appreciation for the arts with the National Heritage Board’s adorable collection of angbaos. From 12th January to 9th February, you can collect red packets with designs inspired by 43 heritage institutions and museums in Singapore, such as the Science Centre Singapore and National Museum of Singapore

Enclosed in each set are 8 pieces of red packets showcasing the design of the specific location you’re visiting – so your challenge is to collect a different angbao design at every museum you explore.

There are also 50 limited-edition box sets of all 43 packets, and a special box-only design, available to purchase at $108. You can buy these on 27th January, from 10am-5pm, at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall.

5. McDonald’s – Hello Kitty packets

In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 50th Anniversary this year, the Yellow Arches have released a new McDonald’s X Hello Kitty Collection, which includes prosperous Hello Kitty packets in time for Chinese New Year.

You can get these packets free with a purchase of the new Prosperity Meal ($9.90). There are 3 different designs: a pink packet with a McNugget design, a yellow packet with a French Fry design and a red packet with a Happy Meal design.

6. Coach – Origami angbaos

 


 

If you’re still on the hunt for your CNY OOTD, spend $400 at Coach to receive a packet of origami angbaos along with your stylish fit. All your angbao recipients will know the extra love that when into these, as the deluxe red sheets have to be folded by your hand into the packet.
