The Houston Space Center / Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Texas is the official visitor center for NASA’s spaceflight activities, and contains a collection of space artifacts and hardware. The highlights at the Space Center / Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center include the Living In Space and Feel Of Space simulations, the Mission Control facilities, the Astronaut Training Facility and the replica of the United States Of America Space Shuttle.

The Downtown Aquarium in Houston houses over 200 species of aquatic and land animals in 5 themed displays, several of which are native to the United States Of America. Besides the actual aquarium, Downtown Aquarium also has several attractions rides, such as C.P. Huntington Train / Shark Voyage, which stops in the middle of a shark tank for a close-up view, and the Diving Bell Ferris Wheel which offers a view of the Texas skyline.

Located on the historic battleground where troops under General Sam Houston won the independence of Texas, the San Jacinto Monument and San Jacinto Museum Of History commerates the decisive battle of San Jacinto, as well as the culture and heritage of Texas. As the tallest monument in the United States Of America, the San Jacinto Monument offers an observation deck 150 meters (490 feet) high. Battleship Texas is also located nearby.

The Houston Museum Of Fine Arts is one of the largest museums in the United States Of America, with over 63,000 pieces in 7 facilities, spanning more than 6,000 years of history. As the oldest art museum in Texas, the Houston Museum Of Fine Arts is noted for its collection of contemporary American art, African-American art, Texas paintings, African gold, pre-Columbian gold, French impressionism, American photography, Italian Renaissance paintings, and contemporary Latin American art.

5. Old Town Spring

Located north of Houston, Old Town Spring is a unique, quaint turn of the century town, where many of the original buildings, some over 100 years old, are still in use as stores selling antiques, clothings, collectibles and gifts. Designed in the classic western Texas style, Old Town Spring also has restaurants and museums. Originally built as part of the Railroad leading to the North United States Of America, the bank in Old Town Spring still bears bullet holes from stagecoach robberies.
