As part of the release of Despicable Me 4, the event will have an array of Minion-themed games, exclusive merch, and weekend meet-and-greets with Anti-Villain League secret agents, Kevin and Stuart. Read on to find out more:
Hands up if you’d love to join the Minions at the Anti-Villain League (AVL) Academy. Well, you can fulfil your dreams at Suntec City from now till 14th July 2024. In celebration of the upcoming Despicable Me 4 movie on 4th July, the mall has transformed the Atrium, Tower 1 and 2 into an all-out AVL-themed space.
We’re talking about Singapore’s first Anti-Villain League Academy, where you can unleash your inner spy and snap tonnes of pictures while going about a mega mission. Show off your best superhero pose or Minion-inspired expression for the ‘Gram. And hey, if you have a pair of yellow overalls, remember to don it to match the Minions.
If you haven’t downloaded the Suntec+ App and signed up as a member, now’s your time. With your membership, children aged 3 to 12 can take part in the fun activities and become certified AVL agents. This is a parent-accompanied event, so adults can join in the excitement and take on the challenge too.
Enter the secret Security Room and complete missions to get the hidden codes. No spoilers here, but there’ll be some counting of the Minions’ favourite fruit, bananas, involved.
Your agility will be put to the test in the next room. Come face to face with bouncy obstacle courses, but with a twist – there’ll be laser trip wires to navigate around. Kiddos will need to crawl and manoeuvre around pool noodles as swiftly as possible.
We can’t forget about the ball pit, where children can run riot and hop into a pool of soft balls.
Then, test your sense of smell at the Vault Chamber. Fans of the Despicable Me series will recognise the iconic Fart Blaster gun here. Here’s the challenge: you’ll need to identify the smells emitted by the Fart Blaster gun in order to get the final code and complete the mission by unlocking the safe.
Aside from the bragging rights, those who’ve completed the missions will be awarded with the AVL badge and a Despicable Me 4 pin badge and sticker sheet. Go wild with your haul and decorate your notebooks or water bottles with the stickers so everyone knows you’re a Minion fanatic.
The meet-and-greets are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
We simply can’t get enough of the charming yellow characters. There will be meet-and-greets happening every weekend, at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm with the lovable Kevin and Stuart. And surprise, they won’t be dressed in their usual blue overalls. They will be strutting around in brand-new Anti-Villain League Academy suits, so you’ll be one of the first to see this new outfit.
If a Minion-filled home is what you desire, drop by the Despicable Me 4 retail pop-up store. A variety of figurines and back-to-school essentials inspired by the characters are just some of the many items you can find here. There’ll also be cute Minion stuffed toys so you can scream “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die!” like Agnes.
With a minimum spend of $50 and $80, you’ll also score a free Despicable Me 4 pencil case and messenger bag respectively.
Continue your shopping around the mall as there are rewards to be redeemed. Those who hit $120 in a single receipt can snag a $5 Suntec City e-Voucher. Spending $150 in a single receipt will get you $15 Retailers’ e-Vouchers to enjoy at various merchants in Suntec City.
Citi cardholders will also receive $10 worth of Suntec City e-Vouchers with a minimum spend of $150 in 1 receipt. And good news to Citi Mastercard members – you’ll get an additional $5 Suntec City e-Voucher.
