Star Vista Now Has New Shops Like Beauty In The Pot, Le Shrimp Ramen & MR.DIY To Alight At Buona Vista For

New shops at Star Vista

The next time you’re changing trains on the East-West or Circle Line at Buona Vista MRT with time to spare, or waiting around before a concert at the Star Theatre, you’d want to explore your surroundings. With new stores opening, Star Vista could very well be your next favourite hangout spot.

From hotpot restaurants to hardware stores, here’s what to expect at the revamped space:

Beauty in The Pot – healthy collagen soup to boost your inner glow

Hotpot-lovers will have one new outlet to satisfy cravings with the newly-opened Beauty in The Pot. The restaurant’s Signature Collagen Broth is rich in collagen that is said to improve your skin by reducing wrinkles and dryness. It is called Beauty in The Pot for a reason, after all.

All the ingredients that you’re getting here are quality ones too. We tried the Ebiko Prawn paste and the Century Egg fish paste – and both had that homely handmade taste. Even the dumplings are hand-folded in-house too!

Mala-lovers should try out the Signature Spicy Nourishing Soup, which uses Chinese herbs and Szechuan chilli oil to give you that oof-worthy spiciness. They’ve got mildly spicy, spicy and extra spicy options.

The Star Vista outlet closes as late as 3AM, so you can round up your supper buddies to satisfy those midnight cravings. You’ll even enjoy 20% off all ingredients after 10.30pm!

Le Shrimp Ramen – noodle restaurant with Chinese and Japanese influences

Le Shrimp Ramen is the very first noodle restaurant that offers Japanese Shrimp Broth with Chinese La Mian noodles – the best of both worlds. Their speciality broth is a rich, fragrant concoction brimming with flavour made from conpoy and fresh baked jumbo prawns that are ground down to a fine texture and left to simmer for eight hours with other premium ingredients.

Try out the Le Signature Trio Shrimp Ramen, which comes with a generous serving of springy noodles, ebiko prawn paste and prawn dumplings. We savoured the soup down to the very last drop.

For sharing platters with fellow foodies, add on the Prawn Dumplings with Chili Vinaigrette or the Long Jing Tea Lava Egg. The food here is wallet-friendly, too, ranging from $6.50 to $19.90. They’ve also got a tea-time promo that’ll let you shave 30% off all noodle dishes from 3-5PM on weekdays.

Morganfield’s – BBQ ribs buffets and lunch deals

Walk past the revamped Morganfield’s and you might not even recognise it. While the restaurant once had alfresco dining, all seating is now indoors to beat the heat with air-conditioning. There’s even a newly-added bar where you can chill and get beer on tap!

Meat fans will particularly love this place. There’s a ribs buffet at $40/person on weekends and public holidays from 11AM-4PM where you can go HAM and eat your money’s worth. For that friend that’s always wanting to bulk up, this would even be the perfect spot to bring them for a birthday surprise.

On weekdays, snag yourself a lunch set deal from just $12.90. In addition to your main course, you’ll get free soup and a free drink.

MR.DIY – Home improvement/One Stop store with over 20,000 products

Think of MR.DIY as the land of everything – there are over 20,000 products spanning from hardware and car accessories to household, furnishing, jewellery and cosmetics.

No matter what age you are, it’ll be hard not to get fascinated with the wide range of things you can get here. Don’t be surprised if you head in with the intention of just getting one item, but leave with multiple shopping bags.

Kids will flock to the toy section which has everything from cuddly stuffed toys to dartboard games, while the adults can choose to update their home with necessities like kitchen utensils, dishwashing liquid, electrical items or even tools like drills.

Sports-enthusiasts can also stock up for their next sweat sesh with equipment like badminton rackets, basketballs and exercise gear.
