If the number of festivals in Singapore is anything to go by, then we are a country that loves to celebrate – whether it’s culture, food or art. If you enjoy all 3, add Somerfest 2022 to your list of events to attend while making your end-of-year plans.
From 25th November to 18th December, Somerset Belt will be turning into a vibrant space with numerous activities happening this festive season. You can look forward to interactive exhibits, art installations and live performances, just to name a few.
Here’s what’s poppin’ at Somerfest 2022.
Earlier this year, the National Youth Council had an open call for ideas to liven up the public spaces in Somerset and, boy, did the youth show up with unique proposals. The Realise Your Somerset Project (RYSP) initiative will see a total of 22 projects ranging from musical concerts and dramas to urban sports open to the public from now till January.
Workshops are open to ages 13 to 35 years old of all fitness levels.

One of the highlights is Parkour @ The Belt – a mini parkour park setup for challenges, performances, and workshops. If you’ve always wanted to try the sport, here’s your chance to join the free beginner-friendly classes from 25th November to 18th December to learn how to do so safely.

Also worth checking out is the Green Arena 2.0 where you can try your hand at drumming on upcycled drums from everyday materials. The interactive exhibit will be on display from 6th-18th December at the Somerset Youth Park.

We’ve heard of chatting over coffee and tea, but what about having insightful conversations over some ice cream? Spreading joy 1 scoop at a time, Colour Palette will be giving away 1,000 free ice cream scoops for those who take part in their social media challenge from 16th-18th December.
Specially for Somerfest 2022, there will be 3 flavours unique to the Somerset Belt including Kaya Burnt Cheesecake. You’ll just have to head down to the festival to find out what the other 2 exclusive ice cream flavours are.
