SnowLand JB: Winter Wonderland 30 Minutes From SG With Ice Slides, Sculptures & Snowfall

SnowLand JB in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

With the recent spike in temperatures on the Little Red Dot causing us to sweat profusely the moment we step outside, it’s no wonder we make a beeline for the closest air-conditioned haven ASAP when we’re out and about. If you’ve had it up to here with the unbearable heatwaves, may we suggest heading across the border to JB for some icy-cool relief?

Weather-wise, our neighbours probably aren’t faring much better, but they’ve got a new chilly attraction to visit on your day trips to JB. Called SnowLand JB, they’ve got slippery ice slides to whiz down, picture-perfect ice sculptures, and even simulated snowfall to recreate K-drama scenes. Here’s everything you need to know before heading down to frolic in the snow.

What is SnowLand JB?

SnowLand JB is an ice-themed indoor playground in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Located within Mall of Medini, which is right next to LEGOLAND Malaysia, it’s just a 30-minute drive from Tuas Checkpoint, so getting there from Singapore shouldn’t pose a problem at all.

SnowLand JB will be having an opening promotion which sees prices for their day tickets slashed; tickets for kids start from RM34.90 (~S$10.56), while adult tickets start from RM44.90 (~S$13.58). Seniors aged 60 and above and little ones under 90cm also get to enter for free.

The promotion starts on their opening day on 17th May 2025 but we’ve not received word on when the promotion will end, so head down soon to take advantage of the discount prices.

What to expect at SnowLand JB?

Since most of the installations in SnowLand JB are made out of ice, the temperatures within the ice playground plummet below -10°C. As such, you’ll want to ensure that you’re appropriately dressed, lest you have to cut your play session short due to uncontrollable shivering.

Based on our past experience visiting similar indoor ice playgrounds like Ice Magic, be sure to put on a good pair of long pants, preferably waterproof ones. Wear additional layers to shield you from the cold, and come in covered shoes with a good grip; not only is it a requirement to enter SnowLand JB, but it also prevents you from skidding all over the place.

Before you step foot into SnowLand JB, you can collect winter jackets from the staff to wear during your visit. However, you’ll have to pay a fee to rent additional winterwear such as ear muffs, gloves, as well as winter boots if you’ve not come in covered shoes.

Once you’re all geared up, it’s time to venture into this winter wonderland. For starters, have a go on SnowLand JB’s many ice slides. You’ll be given little plastic sleds to sit on before you whoosh down, so you don’t have to worry about getting your bums wet. There are also mini slides for the tots as well; these come with inflatable tubes to lounge in as they slide across the slippery ice.

If you’ve got petty squabbles to settle, then take it to the playground’s snow bumper cars. Afterwards, make up by posing for snaps by intricately designed ice statues. Photo spots include an illuminated ice castle a la Frozen,  life-sized figures of familiar characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and a wooden cabin complete with furniture sculpted from ice.

There are also parts of the playground that experience artificial snowfall, so feel free to challenge one another to impromptu snowball fights. Should the kids still have some gas left in the tank, have them hop on a rope-drawn sled and lug them around a small ice rink; just be sure to watch your step.

SnowLand JB isn’t awfully large, so it’s safe to say that an hour or 2 here will suffice. Unless you’re really well-insulated, you won’t want to stay too long in their below-freezing premises. If you need to warm up, you can take a stroll in the Mall of Medina shopping mall, or extend your playdate with a visit to the nearby LEGOLAND Malaysia.

Visit SnowLand JB the next time you’re across the border

Other than Singapore’s Snow City and SnowLim Wonderland over in KL, you’ve got another family-friendly option when it comes to beating the heat in the form of SnowLand JB. Price-wise, it’s also pretty affordable and it’s easily accessible especially for Westies, so put this cool attraction on your next JB itinerary.
