In a world riddled with 67 references and faddish TikTok dances, reading’s one way to curb the brain rot epidemic plaguing the little ones, and the National Library Board (NLB) concurs. In recent times, they’ve been going around the island setting up temporary themed libraries in a bid to keep folks – adults included – off their screens by digging into a good book.
Their earlier Sci-Fi, Star Wars, and Comics and Games Pop-Up Libraries float to mind, and now, you’ll be able to swing by one that’s inspired by the world of PEANUTS. Snoopy and gang are calling Plaza Singapura home for a bit, all nestled in a cosy reading nook that’s bound to have grown-ups and kids alike squealing with delight. Here’s all you need to know before heading down to NLB’s new Snoopy Pop-Up Library.
The pop-up is right outside Best Denki, on Level 3 of the mall.
The Snoopy Pop-Up Library can be found in Plaza Singapura, #03-86 to 89. Admission is free, and it’ll be up and running from now till 19th September 2027, from 10am to 10pm daily. We recommend downloading the NLB Mobile app (App Store | Google Play) before visiting, as you can use it to enter the pop-up and borrow books there.
Much like its predecessors, the Snoopy Pop-Up Library is a part of ReadSG. It’s a national initiative by the NLB that encourages all to make reading a lifelong habit by making the hobby more exciting and accessible through installations integrated into everyday spaces like this one.
Also worth mentioning are the free Snoopy, Charlie & Lucy Meet & Greet sessions taking place right here. You’ll get to rub shoulders with Charlie and Snoopy on 7th and 9th November 2026, while Lucy and Snoopy will make an appearance on 8th November 2026. 3 sessions will be happening on each day, at 11am, 2pm, and 4pm.
We swung by the Snoopy Pop-Up Library on its official opening day, and we were pleasantly surprised at how seamlessly it introduces the hobby of reading with a couple of intricately decorated zones. The lively colours, adorable sculptures and cutouts of the PEANUTS cast, and comfy seating areas all come together nicely to create a convivial haunt that’s bound to enthrall all visitors, bookworm or not.
But of course, books are still at the forefront of the pop-up, and there are plenty to choose from here, especially if you’re a budding reader. In order to enter, you’ll need to scan in with the eCard on your NLB Mobile app or a library-compliant card, like your NRIC, driver’s license, or school smart card.
Longtime fans of Charlie Brown and his canine companion will recognise the various areas within the pop-up, as they’re all inspired by locations and beats portrayed in the comics. The first area you’ll come across is the PEANUTS School Bus.
It’s the first display you’ll see even before you step into the pop-up, as the strikingly yellow vehicle piloted by none other than Snoopy greets visitors from the outside. Inside, the beagle has thoughtfully left some space up front for you to ride shotgun, as he transports a school of Woodstocks in the back.
There’s also a bus stop set here, accompanied by a Snoopy in his flying ace getup.
Nearby, comics about Snoopy and his slice-of-life escapades are arranged neatly on a shelf for all to leaf through or borrow; in particular, there’s a book all about Charles Monroe Schulz, the brilliant American cartoonist behind the PEANUTS comic strips. There are both child-centric and adult reads here, perfect for OG and new fans to fall in love with the endearing series.
By the way, should any title suit your fancy and you’d like to borrow it to enjoy it at home, simply whip out your NLB Mobile app, tap on the orange “Scan” button on the bottom of your screen and scan the QR code that each book is tagged with. That’s it, you’re good to go; once you’re done reading your books, you can return them at any NLB library islandwide.
Follow a winding road, and you’ll catch the cut-outs of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Sally Brown posed in an Abbey Road-esque scene as they make their way across a zebra crossing. It’s also where you’ll find Snoopy’s Backyard, a garden-themed zone filled with even more books for young readers to keep themselves entertained.
The set dressing here is immaculate; we’re talking pint-sized, kid-only picnic tables, bush-like shelves stocked with picture books, and even a massive plush of the Snoopy snoozing atop his iconic doghouse. Observant visitors will even spot a Woodstock figure in his nest, perched in the canopy of a book stand.
If your kid can’t quite settle on which books to bring home, a visit to Lucy’s Booth should put to bed any indecision. Long-standing fans of the comic will know what this is a nod to – Lucy’s psychiatry booth, but this one doesn’t spew inane advice, much less charge you 5 cents for using it.
Instead, you’ll be able to get helpful book recommendations based on your age, current mood, and favourite pastime. You can even print out your recommendations onto 2 little strips that double as handy bookmarks too.
Right beside Lucy’s Booth is a huge touchscreen where you can browse the library’s selection of Snoopy-related eBooks. Simply tap on the ones you’d like to borrow or preview, then scan the QR code that pops up with your NLB Mobile app to check them out and you’re golden.
Finally, make your way to Charlie Brown’s Classroom at the back of the pop-up. There are plenty of chairs – although a little too small for our liking – for impromptu reading sessions, a screen that’s designed like a chalkboard showcasing PEANUTS comic strips, and in the back, a photo spot with Marcie who’s already a good few chapters into her current read.
Speaking of which, you’ll be able to find books catered to older children here, as their Junior Fiction selection is pretty extensive. We spotted mainstays such as the ever-popular Geronimo Stilton lining the shelves.
At the other end of the classroom, there’s also a whole section dedicated to local authors and their works. These include books from the Singapore Sports Series featuring athletes like the Fandi family, the riveting tales of the Little Red Dot’s greatest kid detective Sherlock Sam, and the adorably illustrated Can I Lick The Spoon, Mum? cookbook.
You don’t have to rush down to Plaza Singapura to catch the Snoopy Library Pop-Up; it’s here to stay till September of next year after all. But if you’re looking to keep your little one busy with a meaningful hobby during the upcoming holidays, perhaps a visit is in order before the crowds start pouring in once school’s out.
