Skyscape Is A 34-Storey High Sky Deck In JB With Outdoor Sky Bridge, LED Tunnel & VR Games

Skyscape Johor Bahru – Observatory Sky Deck

The upcoming March holidays means it’s time for a family vacation. If you still don’t have a ticket booked yet, Johor Bahru is always an option for a last-minute trip. Of course, a holiday isn’t a holiday without pictures. Head down – or shall we say, up – to Skyscape Johor Bahru for stunning views of JB and even Singapore. Remember to bring your film camera to capture some cool photos for the mems.

Those who frequent JB would’ve heard of Komtar JBCC, a mall Singaporeans love because of its accessibility. It’s just a 7-min walk from the Causeway, connected to JB Sentral and City Square next door. This massive mall is connected to Menara JLand, a commercial building that’s home to Skyscape Johor Bahru – JB’s first and only observation deck on level 34.

Indoors or outdoors? Choose your adventure. Your ticket gives you access to 6 attractions within Skyscape: Interactive Floor Game, Sky Bridge, Mini Theatre, Virtual Reality (VR), Observation Deck, and LED Tunnel.

Outdoor Skybridge – Panoramic views of JB & SG

Be warned, though. The Outdoor Skybridge is not for the faint-hearted – especially if you have acrophobia. The bridge tries to stimulate walking on air through an entirely see-through glass floor. Well, it makes for a truly exhilarating experience for some, but heart-stopping for those afraid of heights.

Although each visitor is only entitled to 15 minutes on the bridge, this is more than enough time to take in the 360-degree views of JB’s skyline. If you look closely, you can also spot Selat Tebrau, the Causeway, and some parts of Singapore from here.

When you’re finally on the bridge, don’t look down. Daredevils out there should seize this opportunity to take some sick pics using the glass floor. Pro tip: Angle your camera to capture your reflection on the glass for an interesting depiction. If you’re really feeling it, you can even lie down and use the cityscape beneath you as your background.

Your ticket also includes entry to the indoor observation deck where you can find a telescope with an impressive 75x magnification. With this tool at your disposal, zoom in and take a closer look at the stunning views that surround you.

Here’s the best part: There’s only a maximum of 6 visitors allowed at one time, so it almost feels as if you have the whole place to yourself. Don’t worry about long waiting lines, there are interactive floor games such as soccer, piano, and dinosaurs to keep you and the young ones entertained.

LED Tunnel – IG photo hotspot

Another attraction within Skyscape is the LED Tunnel for all you TikTokers. This trippy neon studio features ever-changing lights and patterns, providing a dynamic backdrop for your IG pictures. Furthermore, each ticket entails you to 2 hours at the tunnel, so pose away to your heart’s content.

VR Games & Mini Theatre – Family-friendly activities

The experience at Skyscape doesn’t just stop here, though. Head to the VR game booth where you can pretend you’re a professional skier, or experience the thrill of being on a rollercoaster.

There’s also a Mini Theatre for you to chill at, a cosy space with 4 bean bags. The videos screened here are largely about other places of attraction in JB, so you can treat this as an educational experience – extra helpful if you’re a first-time tourist here.

Before leaving, drop by Skyshop for souvenirs or to purchase your photos if you had one taken by a professional photographer crew member on the Skybridge.

Tickets start from S$8.90

No matter how many times you’ve been to JB, we bet you’ve never seen such a killer view of its cityscape. Its exciting attractions provide alternative entertainment for those who prefer staying indoors. It’s pretty affordable, too – with tickets starting at RM28/child (~S$8.90) and RM38/adult (~S$12).

So the next time you’re in the neighbouring city, set aside some time to visit Skyscape Johor Bahru.
