Maybe you’ve always wanted to pick up a new skill but never had the time or opportunity. No excuses now, because SkillsFuture Festival 2018 is the perfect one-stop place to learn everything – from managing difficult people in the office to learning how to be the next Gordon Ramsay.

 Here’s what you can look forward to: 

1. Make maki and durian puffs at cooking classes

If your favourite part of the house is the kitchen, rejoice. SkillsFuture Festival is bringing to you FREE cooking classes to indulge your inner Masterchef.

Put on your aprons as celebrity chefs teach you how to whip up delicious and healthy Maki Rolls, Fragrant Sesame Chicken with Black Fungus, Braised Pork Belly with Steamed Mantou, Poached Eight Treasure Chicken, Lemongrass Panna Cotta and even Gula Melaka Durian Puffs. *drools*.

2. Learn parenting tips and tricks

 

We know how challenging parenthood can be – whether it’s worrying about which preschool offers the best education to making sure your child doesn’t go hungry daily. So, you’ll be glad that SkillsFuture Festival has free workshops that’ll teach you how to take care of junior.

3. Pick up tips on how to be an A+ boss 

It’s not all that easy at the top, especially so if you have to manage people at work who aren’t the most cooperative. So, if your subordinates or colleagues are waging wars and playing politics, make your life easier with a workshop on Managing Conflict in the Workplace

And if you’ve just hired a bunch of pink-haired Millennials who absolutely must IG story every little detail of their lives, this workshop on Managing Millennials in the Workplace might help you understand just what on earth is going through their minds.

4. Brush up your IT skills

We all know that parent who types with his or her index finger at a speed of 3 words/minute. Take them along to SkillsFuture Festival’s workshops such as How Digital Are You? where you’ll get a fun, hands on 30-minute preview of Training Vision Institute’s digital courses. 

Seniors can also keep pace with the tech wave at PA Senior Academy, a roadshow aimed at preparing everyone for Singapore’s move towards being a smart nation.

And if you’re worried about your grandparents not being able to keep up with the tech of this generation, Digital Clinic for Seniors will give them a quick crash course on iOS and Android devices – so you can play Rules Of Survival with your ahma.

6. Get transported into another dimension through virtual reality

We may be living in 2018, but virtual reality artist Andre Wee is living in 3018. Watch as the talented guy demonstrates his next level artistic skills by painting a VR masterpiece right in front of your eyes. Can’t imagine how that works? Yeah, me neither. Looks like there’s only one way to find out. 

If you’d like some hands on action, Andre will be conducting a workshop where you can create your own digital art piece with Tilt Brush by Google, and even keep a copy of the canvas!
