It’s usually this time of the year that many of us start planning our trips to Bangkok for that much-needed dose of sightseeing, shopping and night markets. For the folks missing their annual pilgrimage to the Land of Smiles, there’s a new permanent gem along Orchard Road that’ll quell that longing: Shiok Shiok Night Market.

Located right across the road from 313@Somerset is Shiok Shiok – easily accessible for folks looking for their next evening hangout spot. Perfect for dinner or supper, this latest addition to Singapore’s late night scene is open from 4PM – 3AM daily.

With its roadside locale, this new foodie haunt channels some serious Bangkok night market vibes. The constant hum of nearby traffic, elephant statues and fairy lights might bring to mind the popular venues we know and love like Ratchada or Patpong.

There won’t be any retail stores for affordable shopping a la Chatuchak Singapore, but their bright signboards signal mookata, grills, fresh seafood and plenty of drinks.

The five stores currently open to fill your tums are: Shiok Shiok Grill, Mookata King, Seoul Hungry, Star Seafood and Drinks Store – where you can presumably find the usual suspects of Thai Milk Tea and beer. Spotted were also fresh oyster platters going at $4/piece.

It may not be the biggest night market around, but boy are we glad to finally have a new spot to explore for some out-of-town vibes. While not much has been shared about the night market online, you can stay tuned to Shiok Shiok Night Market’s Facebook page for more updates.
