Sheraton Johor Bahru
If you’ve ever braved the Causeway on a weekend, you know the struggle is real – traffic, queues, and the eternal question: “Do we really need to leave the city for a quick getaway?” Well, Sheraton Johor Bahru, the newest hotel in the city, might just change your mind. While Airbnbs in JB are great for a quick stay, sometimes a hotel just hits different with plush beds, room service, and amenities that can make even a getaway feel like a full-on vacay.
Where is Sheraton Johor Bahru located?

The hotel is located along Jalan Storey, roughly a 5-minute drive from the JB checkpoint. This means not only is it super easy to get there once your passports have been chopped, but heading back to Singapore is just as quick since it’s so near the checkpoint.
Johor Bahru City Square Mall is also just a 4-minute drive away, and Storia Cafe, an eatery serving classic Malaysian dishes like nasi lemak and mee siam, is right opposite the hotel.
What are the rooms available at Sheraton Johor Bahru?
There are 345 rooms and suites, but the highlights for families are defo the Family Room and Family Suite. These are specially designed with kid-friendly touches and enough room for everyone to relax without stepping on each other’s toes. More on that below.

You have 2 bed options with the Deluxe room – 1 king or 2 twin beds – so you’re covered whether it’s a romantic getaway or a family trip. There’s also the option to choose a room with a Skyline View and soak in the city from your window.
Prices start from RM618/night (~S$189.69) – a sweet deal when you consider that a Deluxe King room at Sheraton Towers in Singapore will set you back around S$395/night.
Club room

Top up a bit more to enjoy the Club room priced from RM665/night (~S$204.12), where you’ll also enjoy exclusive access to the Sheraton Club. There, you’ll get to unwind with all-day snacks and sip on complimentary beverages, or connect to the free Wi-Fi to get some work done.
Premier room

Or go for the Premier room priced from RM903/night (~S$277.17), which comes with the same Sheraton Club access. But there are 2 additional perks with the higher price tag: a slightly bigger room at 45sqm, and a bathtub to soak your stresses away.

And because JB is practically every Singaporean family’s go-to weekend getaway, the Family Room (from RM950/night, ~S$291.60) is a great pick for your next bonding trip. It comes with 2 bedrooms – a king bed for the parents and a twin bunk for the little ones. The kids’ room is especially cute, decked out in calming blues with coastal-themed decor like seashells and waves.

While most of us probably won’t be splurging on the Sheraton Suite (from RM5,368/night, ~S$1,655.15) or the Presidential Suite (from RM10,118/night, ~S$3,119.76), it doesn’t hurt to dream a little. These suites are so spacious that they feel more like a private apartment than a hotel room. There are additional amenities like a bar counter, office space, double sinks, and even a circular bathtub that’s both IG-worthy and oh-so-luxe.

As for the kids, they’ve scored the jackpot with, apparently, JB’s largest kids’ pool right here at the hotel. There’s even a playground built into the pool with slides and water fountains for a splashing fun time.
Burn some calories at the fitness centre

The Sheraton Fitness is open 24/7 and is stocked with the essentials, from treadmills to dumbbells, to help you squeeze in a workout whenever the motivation hits. After you’re done, head to the steam room to sweat out those toxins and leave feeling refreshed.

Foodies, you’ll want to start at Daily Social, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant that serves up a mix of international and local cuisines. This is also where you’ll have your buffet breakfast if it’s included in your room package.

If you’re after something more casual, &More by Sheraton is where you can grab a quick bite or relax with a cuppa. You’ll find light bites here, like pastries, salads, and fresh fruits for a mid-day pick-me-up.
Try the Tuna Tataki with Mushroom & Bean Salad for just RM12 (~S$3.70), fresh-cut fruits at RM8 (~S$2.47), or a Salmon Bagel at RM22 (~S$6.78).

For something heartier, make your way to Soo Noodles, where you’ll find noodle dishes infused with Asian flavours. Must-tries include the Nyonya Curry Laksa (RM42, ~S$12.95) that comes with freshwater prawns, and the Gochujang Noodle (RM38, ~S$11.72) topped with an onsen egg to mellow out the spice.
Bonus points: the restaurant stays open till 1am, serving up a Late-Night Supper menu.

And when the sun sets, trade your plate for a cocktail glass at Unspoken Bar – let your hair down with a tipple or two in a chic, tucked-away setting.
