If you’re looking for new spots to immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit, look no further than S.E.A Aquarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark. With the line-ups of family-friendly activities, get ready your party hats and look forward to interactive Santa dives, spot different fishes, and meet & greet sessions with Pokémon characters.
Dive down into the deep blue sea this Christmas. The Merry Reef Adventure, a collaboration between S.E.A Aquarium and picture-book author Josef Lee, is inspired by vibrant coral reefs and their inhabitants. From 29th November 2024 to 2nd January 2025, follow Caleb, a Clown Triggerfish, as he searches for the owner of a red hat with the help of his fellow friends.
First stop, the Coral Garden. We can’t embark on an adventure without first meeting the main character of the story, so try spotting Caleb amongst the colourful coral reefs and bustling aquatic life.
Hint: he’s a Clown Triggerfish, so look out for the iconic polka-dotted belly as he swims by.
You can’t miss out on his strikingly yellow lips as well.
Keep your eyes open for the interactive panels littered around the aquarium. There are 4 of these in total, and they give clues on finding Caleb’s friends and their habitats.
Some fishes included in the adventure are the Whitetail Bristletooth, Razorfish, and Tomato Clownfish.
The Open Ocean Habitat is undoubtedly the highlight of the S.E.A Aquarium. Get ready for the Merry Santa Dive, where you can join Santa and his elves on a magical dive this Christmas.
Find a comfortable spot in the sitting area to enjoy the Santa Greeting. The show starts at 11.15am, and the divers can be seen performing interactive magic tricks to the audience.
Don’t worry if you’ve missed the first half of the show. There will also be a Santa Dive Feed at 3.45pm, where you’ll witness Santa feeding fishes and sharks in the aquarium. Performances are held daily but are subject to weather conditions, so you may want to check with staff members on the day of your visit.
In collaboration with STABILO, head down to the Colouring Cove, where you can let your inner child run wild. Think of an aquarium-themed colouring book, but instead of colouring on paper, the illustrations are plastered on a giant wall.
Crayons are readily available at the side, so grab your desired colours and start drawing away. Unlike the usual crayons on books, these are waxier and don’t leave a stain. It’s a much more sustainable effort since the artwork can be wiped away with a cloth and warm water, ready to be coloured again the next day.
After admiring the marine life, it’s time for you to get into the water. Enjoy a splashing good time at Adventure Cove Waterpark, where they’re hosting a Pokémon Aqua Adventure from 1st December 2024 till 1st January 2025.
Yellow may not be a common colour for Christmas, but ditch the usual red, white, and green this year for the striking Pokémon-themed decorations instead.
Spot beloved characters like Pikachu and Eevee, and don’t forget to pose with them at the various photo spots.
After splashing around the pools, take a break and head up to The Bay Restaurant, where there are daily screenings of the latest Pokémon show, Pokémon Horizons: The Series.
Here, you can also catch a meet-and-greet session with the Pokémon characters. Get your camera ready, snap away as you take pictures and interact with the two adorable mascots, Pikachu and Quaxly.
The sessions are hosted at 11am and 4pm, and the schedules are as follows:
Do look out for the Pokémon parade as well. This segment had yet to commence when we visited the park, but we’ve heard that character mascots, including Fuecoco and Sprigatito, will be marching from Rainbow Reef down to Bluwater Bay.
The parade is held at 2pm, and schedules are:
Purchase Pokémon-themed merchandise at the Reef and Wave store to take home with you. Some picks are these cute character plushies, stationary sets, and tees.
