There are plenty of ways to get from Singapore to KL, from taking a coach to flying out of Seletar Airport. Starting this September, there’s yet another way for Singaporean travellers to get to the Malaysian capital, thanks to the launch of Scoot’s flight route from Singapore to Subang.
The current exchange rate is RM10 = ~S$2.86 as of 19th July 2024.

Subang Jaya is in Selangor, halfway between Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam. The airport, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, is a 30-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), on the other hand, is about 50 minutes to an hour away from Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
If you think about it, it’s actually faster to get into KL City Centre if you fly into Subang.
The flights will operate once a day, 7 times a week – making it the perfect alternative for those regularly travelling between KL and Singapore.

The 1-hour flight from Changi Airport to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport departs at 11.55am and arrives at 1.10 pm; while the return flight departs at 2.10pm and arrives at 3.20pm. All-in Economy class fares start from S$83 and RM108, so you’ll be able to do a round-trip flight from about $114-$117.
Of course, the flight prices will fluctuate depending on when you’re flying. Currently, we’ve seen the one-way flight from Subang to Singapore starting from just S$34.74.
