Marathons have had to get creative as part of safe distancing measures, paving the way for virtual runs. Swim events aren’t left out of the fun either, with Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope back for its 11th edition – the second virtual one since the pandemic.
Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021 is also the second year where Liberty Insurance Singapore is the Title Sponsor. You’ll get to clock some exercise, snag a goodie bag, finisher tee and medal, and best of all, do your part for charity.
Your laps can be clocked and submitted virtually anywhere and any time between 30th October – 5th December 2021. There are a number of categories available, ranging from a comfortable 1KM to a 55KM beast mode. You can even sign up with your little one for the Families For Life parent-and-child category! Here’s the full lowdown so you can start planning your virtual swim:

There are various categories you can sign up for, based on your fitness level and how much time you can spare to clock those laps. Open Individual categories are for participants aged 13 and above, available at the following distances and registration fees:
As the event is not a competitive marathon, feel free to use swimming aids such as floats and kickboards.

If you’re signing up with your kiddo aged between six to 12 years old, the Families For Life parent-and-child category admits one parent and one child for $32. There is also an option to add one more participant to the parent-and-child category, for $12.
Your progress for the virtual swim will be documented when you clock in the distance at any pool of your choice, and upload the records onto the Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021 portal.

Each participant will get a snazzy finisher tee upon hitting their distance target, and be able to strut their stuff for ultimate bragging rights. And of course, that sleek medal to add to your collection.

SAFRA members in particular get to snag a $10 e-voucher upon registration. This can be used to offset your expenditure at selected F&B outlets across the SAFRA clubs throughout Singapore, namely Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines, Toa Payoh and Yishun.
With slots for 4,500 participants to come onboard, the aim is to raise $250,000. This comprises registration fees for the virtual swim, corporate donations from organisations supporting the cause, and donations from the community both on- and offline.
This year, Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope will be raising funds for three beneficiaries:
If you’re unable to take part in the swim event or wish to contribute more than the registration fee amount, feel free to donate online through giving.sg at the specific links listed above.
Alternatively, you can also send in your donation the traditional way by mailing a cheque to SAFRA Tampines, 1A Tampines Street 92 Singapore 528882, with the cheque payable to “SAFRA”.
