Good beer, good German food, and good company – these are the 3 quintessential things that make for a smashing Oktoberfest. This year, Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES have put together a slew of Oktoberfest activities, including live music, German food and beer, and even a pop-up market selling artisanal goods.
Now, all you have to do is get your friends together and indulge in the festivities.
There are 2 Oktoberfest parties – 1 at Capitol Singapore and 1 at CHIJMES.
The party at Capitol Singapore will be graced by Summer Oompah!, a live band that specialises in traditional German music. To bring the authenticity up a notch, the performers wear lederhosen and dirndls. If you want to check them out, head down to the Outdoor Plaza at Capitol Singapore.

Should you get hungry, Frieda German Restaurant will be on standby to offer you hunger-busters such as the Nürnberg Würstchen ($8++), which consists of sausages, mashed potato, sauerkraut, Dijon mustard, and sourdough bread. Don’t forget to order the Oktoberfest Beer, which is priced at $14++ for 500ml.
Those who are up for it can put on a lederhosen or dirndl, follow @capitolkempinski, and receive a free pretzel from the Frieda German Restaurant booth at the Outdoor Plaza. Do note that the offer is limited to the first 30 redemptions and is only valid on 7th-8th Oct.
Location: Outdoor Plaza, Capitol Singapore
Date: 7th-9th Oct
Time: 5.30pm-10pm
Meanwhile, the Oktoberfest party at CHIJMES will take place on The Lawn. PEMENCO has an Oktoberfest menu filled with bundles that will feed 2, 5, and 10 people respectively. But if that’s too much food for you, we recommend ordering the Bangers & Mash ($38), which comprises 4 sausages, mashed potato, and sauerkraut, along with a pint of Erdinger Weissbier ($20).
Location: The Lawn, CHIJMES
Date: Now till 10th Oct
Time: 6pm-12am
The pop-up market is exclusive to Capitol Singapore and runs from 7th-9th Oct. You’ll find stalls selling handmade products such as polymer clay jewellery that look like food, quirky illustrated phone cases, and hand-sewn bags.

The only thing better than good beer is free beer. At Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES, you can get your hands on a cold one, free of charge. The catch? You’ll have to take a video of yourself doing your best jiggly, wiggly dance, upload it onto Instagram, and follow and tag either @CapitolSingapore or @CHIJMES.sg to redeem a free beer.
And if you spend more than $30, split across 2 same-day receipts or less, you’ll be eligible for a lucky dip where you stand to win up to $200 in vouchers from Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES, or brands such as Sulwhasoo, Harry’s, Ka-EN Grill, and Sushi Bar.
Be sure to move fast as the offer is only valid till 23rd Oct for the first 150 redemptions for free beer, and the first 500 redemptions for the lucky dip per mall. Redemption booths can be found at Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski and beside Lei Garden at CHIJMES.
Projection mapping at CHIJMES runs from 7.30pm-10.30pm daily till 23rd Oct.
Besides lucky dips and dancing for free beers, you can also win a $50 Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES voucher by taking a photo with the giant trophy standee at the podium on the Mini Lawn at CHIJMES. Then, simply follow and tag @CHIJMES.sg on Facebook or Instagram and you’re all set.
While you’re at CHIJMES, check out the adorable Oktoberfest animation projected onto the back of the building.
With a mouthwatering menu, legit German beer on tap, and so many freebies up for grabs, your Oktoberfest celebrations at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES will be a blast.

Here are all the best things to do this weekend in Singapore.
Just an hour away from KL!
Taichung is only an hour by High Speed Rail from Taipei or Taoyuan station.
No more stressing over what to get your loved ones for Christmas.
Gone are the days when family photoshoots used to be boring and extra formal.
Meet new-to-Singapore species as well.
