It ain’t easy being an NSF, but if there’s anything that makes those few weeks on Tekong worthwhile, it’s patriotism free vouchers. Our ah gong – a.k.a. the government, if you haven’t caught on to the colloquial slang already – has been distributing plenty of vouchers and credits lately. Other than CDC vouchers, the NSmen among us can also look forward to receiving $100 worth of NS55 credits.
To celebrate 55 years of National Service, MINDEF and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) are giving out recognition packages for past and present national servicemen. Now’s a good time to check your letter boxes – all eligible folks will get a hardcopy notification via mail.
$100 worth of credits will be distributed from 1st – 31st July 2022 via the LifeSG application (iOS, Android). The best part? These credits are valid for a whole year and can be used at plenty of merchants across Singapore – both online and offline.
One TikTok user even seemingly discovered that the vouchers can be redeemed as cash at Sheng Siong ATMs.
From bubble tea to staycations, any business that accepts payment by “Scan and Pay” via PayNow UEN or NETS QR are on board. We sifted through the 130 participating merchants and below are 16 of the most exciting things you can spend your $100 NS55 credits on.
Those who can’t pick a flavour can try ‘em all with the Fickle Feline 2.0.

Probably the #1 cheesecake connoisseur in Singapore, Cat & the Fiddle is the place to go if you’re craving a decadent dessert. Purists can dig into classic flavours like Classic New York and Oreo Cookies and Cream, while those with more adventurous palates can look forward to exciting flavours like Mao Shan Wang Durian.
With NDP coming up, you can even go full #supportlocal and try their local-inspired cakes like Black Coffee and Milo Dinosaur. The bakery is Halal-certified too!

Think cheap sushi and Sushi Express is bound to come to mind. While it might be the talk of the town for a recent price increase (thanks a lot, inflation), we’re sure its queues aren’t going to get any shorter. Either way, put your vouchers to good use by treating yourself to a meal so you can scarf down some salmon sashimi without feeling the pinch. 😉

Singaporeans are bubble tea fiends with pearls coursing through our veins – no day is complete without the obligatory “Want BBT?” at 4pm. Whether you’re planning to belanja your buds or not, cool down with a boba fix from Koi or Playmade whenever, wherever with your credits. And hey, even if your loyalties lie elsewhere, you can’t really resist a free cup of bubble tea.

Plan your next guys’ night out with the boys at Brewerkz, which is known for serving up a mean selection of house-brewed beers. Their menu has more drinks than I can count, but look out for their best-selling Golden Ale, or the fruity Circuit Breaker New England IPA for something a lil more refreshing.
The brewery has outlet-exclusive dishes too, like Wagyu Braised Beef Shortribs ($32) and Kurobuta Pork Tenderloin ($28) at its Riverside Point restaurant. Other locations include One Fullerton, Orchard Rendezvous Hotel and Singapore Indoor Stadium.
