You may have heard of Mr Biryani, a casual restaurant serving delectable biryani in Little India. Visit and you’re in for a treat when you pick their authentic Hyderabadi-style dhum biryani, or seasoned rice cooked in an earthen pot.
But this month, diners won’t be the only ones in for a tasty meal. With the pandemic affecting the lives of many, owner and chef Govinda Rajan has partnered with charity organisation Free Food For All to start a food donation initiative to help the needy. Here’s how you can be part of it:

We all love a 1-for-1 deal, and this one just comes in a slightly more heartwarming form: Buy one of their signature Hyderabad Chicken Dhum Biryani and the restaurant will donate one serving of the same dish to someone from the community in need.
Visit once, twice or however many times you wish to help to hit their target of 1,000 meals!

Priced at $14.90, the dish comprises masala chicken and a halved hard-boiled egg topped on a bed of fragrant curry-drizzled white rice – a filling and flavourful meal for both you and the person who benefits from it.
While you’re there, also try their Butter Naan ($3.50 each) and sweet milk-based dessert Gulab Jamun ($5.90/2 pieces). Wash it all down with a cup of Masala Tea ($2).
