What’s pink, strawberry-scented, and speaks with a Southern drawl? If you’re a Pixar fan, you’ll know that we’re talking about Lotso, the stuffed teddy bear from Toy Story 3. Loop & Co. at Taman Mount Austin is a cafe dedicated to this beloved character, with Lotso-inspired F&B and a mini thrift store at the back. Here’s everything that’s available at the cafe:
Loop & Co. is located in the Taman Mount Austin area, which is a 20-minute drive from Woodlands CIQ. For those driving to JB from Singapore, there are many parking lots available around the area but do note that the parking spots are not sheltered. Alternatively, you can also take a Grab and set your location as Loop & Co. Taman Mount Austin.
Step inside the cafe and you’ll be greeted with an explosion of pink. The interior has been decked out with Lotso motifs, from window stickers to table cloths with the adorable character’s face on them.
Pick your favourite spot and settle down. If you’re planning to take a tonne of pictures, get a seat next to the windows for some natural light. But if you’re leaning towards the camping theme, then grab a foldable chair and plop down at the wooden tables.
You’ll notice that there are Lotso onesies hung at the side – these are free to borrow, so you can dress up as your favourite character while chilling at the cafe.
Kawaii treats.
Moving on to the food. The cafe has a wide selection of delectable mains, including Chicken Pepperoni Pizza, Japanese Curry Chicken Rice, Fried Rice with Sausage and Egg, and Mushroom Carbonara.
Fans will know that Lotso’s favourite treat is a zesty strawberry. So, of course you can expect strawberry-flavoured desserts at the cafe too. Families visiting with kiddos can try the Mini Strawberry Cake, and pair it with the Strawberry Sweetheart Fizzy drink.
Alternatively, go for a slice of the Tiramisu with Rum, Kahlua, and Baileys cake. It’s sweet without being too overpowering, and goes well with a cup of the Hot Mokuren Genmaicha.
Other treats you’ll find at the cafe are croissants, cookies, and soft buns. Some items might be seasonal, so be sure to check with the staff if you’re keen on getting any.
Once you’re done filling your tummy, it’s time to do some shopping. There’s a small thrift store at the back of the store, and clothes have been neatly arranged by colour so it’s easier to browse. Prices start from RM2, and there’s a changing room for you to try on your picks. Just remember to be considerate and keep the pieces clean when returning them to the rack.
There’s also a stand by the cashier selling Lotso merchandise. This includes lanyards, keychains, blind boxes, and stuffed toys that you can decorate your house with.
There are plenty of things to do at Taman Mount Austin, and cafe-hopping at Loop & Co. is one activity you shouldn’t sleep on. So, grab your Pixar-crazed pals and plan a trip over to JB this weekend – this Lotso-themed wonderland is awaiting.
