Babies are adorable. But constantly restocking diapers, baby wipes, and approximately 700 other tiny-human necessities? Not quite as adorable for your bank account. If you’re heading across the Causeway, Little Genius Baby Products Centre in Johor Bahru might be worth adding to your itinerary.
The massive baby store spans 3 storeys, with everything from diapers and milk powder to clothes, toys, car seats, and strollers. Better yet, selected everyday essentials can cost less than their Singapore counterparts, making it a potential stock-up spot for parents.

Despite being commonly referred to as Little Genius Baby Mall, this isn’t a shopping mall in JB with multiple stores. Instead, the Tebrau 3 outlet is essentially a one-stop baby-care shop spread across 3 levels.
You’ll spot plenty of familiar names while browsing, including Huggies, Drypers, Pigeon, and Philips Avent, alongside Malaysian and lesser-known brands.

Start your shopping spree on Level 1, where most of the everyday necessities are located. The selection includes diapers, baby creams, milk powder, baby snacks, toiletries, toys, and bath products.
You’ll also find baby appliances and equipment here, including sterilisers and UV sterilisers, so parents preparing for a newborn can knock several items off their shopping list in one go.

Head up to Level 2 for baby fashion and accessories. This floor houses clothes, mittens, socks, toys, and gift hampers, among other items.
But clothes aren’t necessarily where you’ll score the biggest bargains. Some of the better-quality branded apparel can cost roughly the same as similar options in Singapore, so it’s worth comparing prices before checking out.

Finally, Level 3 is dedicated to the big-ticket items. Think prams, car seats, walkers, jumpers, baby beds, pillows, and blankets.
Don’t automatically assume that the larger items are cheaper just because you’re shopping in JB, though. Previous shoppers have found that some strollers and baby carriers are priced similarly to those at other major baby retailers in Singapore, after doing the conversion.
Where Little Genius Baby Products Centre gets more interesting for Singaporeans is its range of everyday baby essentials. Items such as diapers and baby wipes can be cheaper, particularly if you’re buying several packs at once.

For example, one shopper reported getting a pack of MamyPoko Dry Tape S38 for RM22.37 (~S$7) at Little Genius, whereas it’s priced at S$19.08 on Shopee Singapore at the time of comparison.
The Drypers Touch NB80 was priced at RM35.15 (~S$11) at Little Genius, versus S$22.15 at NTUC FairPrice in Singapore.

It’s not just diapers either. Pigeon Breast Pads (100 pieces) cost RM34.68 (~S$10.85) at Little Genius, while a smaller 60-piece pack is listed for S$14.40 on the NTUC FairPrice website.
Parents can also look out for toiletries at affordable prices. The Bzu Bzu Head To Toe Baby Wash (600ml) was retailing for RM20.13 (~S$6.30) at Little Genius, compared with S$16.90 on Shopee Singapore.
Meanwhile, a Philips Avent 0-6M Soothie Pacifier was selling at RM28.12 (~S$8.80) at the store, versus S$14.90 on Shopee Singapore.
Prices and promotions can change, of course, and the exact savings depend on the product and pack size. So, it’s recommended that you whip out your phone for a quick price check before loading the trolley like you’re preparing for the baby apocalypse.

Little Genius Baby Products Centre is already something of an open secret among Singapore parents, with shoppers reporting plenty of Singapore-registered cars parked outside the store on weekends.
If you’re planning a weekend trip, consider arriving early to beat the crowds. Otherwise, a weekday trip will likely make navigating all 3 floors with a trolley, child, or baby bump considerably easier.
Most of the staff can speak English too, so asking for help locating a particular product or brand shouldn’t be much of an issue.
The store is located in Tebrau 3, about a 10-minute drive from Mount Austin. If you’re coming straight from the JB checkpoint, it’s approximately a 20-minute drive, depending on traffic.
