This coming January, Light to Night will be hosting its 10th edition, happening once again at the iconic Civic District. If you’re planning to head down, get ready for the usual favourites, like iconic light projections, but also new treats thrown into the mix to keep things fresh. Here’s what you need to know:
The theme for Light to Night 2026 is The Power in Us, which celebrates community, diverse perspectives, and the connections we build through art.
Across locations like the Padang and National Gallery Singapore, you’ll get to experience installations, activities, and performances that reflect Singapore’s unique culture. Some will make you realise how far we’ve come over the years, while others quietly point out the things that have stayed the same.

For the first time ever, Light to Night will take place over 4 weeks. From 9th to 31st January 2026, pop by the Civic District to see the festival come to life with exhibitions and fun activities for all to enjoy.
Every year, Light to Night takes over our IG stories and feeds, with people stopping to snap photos in front of its gorgeous visual displays. Among them, the light projections at National Gallery Singapore have become a highly anticipated attraction for many, and this year’s installation is no less impressive.

There’ll be 2 displays projected onto the facade of the National Gallery.
Catch Fyerool Darma’s Ansiblomoo in action with its blend of nature, technology, and recurring patterns that are hard to miss.
Up next is the Memory Gesture exhibition by Vietnamese artist Ngoc Nau. She was inspired by her own hometown’s shift from an agricultural town to a hub for modern-day technology. It’s a story that many Singaporeans can relate to, having seen similar changes over the years.
SINGAPORAMA is a stunning exhibition which will be showcased at the Padang Atrium. It’s the work of Thai artist Navin Rawanchaikul and pays homage to the different communities in Singapore, like migrant workers and indigenous folks.
This exhibition consists of 2 giant murals, painted in the style of old cinema posters, alongside interviews and a vlog documenting Navin’s time in Singapore.

There will also be a series of commissioned artworks, known as the SANTAI series – inspired by the Malay word which means “to relax”.
One of the works you can look forward to is Michael Lin’s Gathering on the Lawn, where visitors will get to play around with paper lantern bags adorned with batik-inspired textiles and prints. He has also collaborated with students from the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) to produce Untitled Gathering – an interactive display of wooden dining tables and chairs featuring patchwork designs.
There’s also a showcase by Firdaus Sani titled Rumah Laut, which means “home on the water” in Malay, a tribute to the indigenous Orang Laut of Singapore and the many sub-communities that fall under that umbrella.
Famous local personality Zaki Hussain is bringing his iconic online series to the streets with My Tour, My Rules. Join his unserious guided tour to hear his witty commentary and see the different artworks in a new light.

Another activity to check out is Life Prep, an immersive experience where you’ll get to try a range of sweet and savoury treats, all inspired by the artworks from the National Gallery’s Southeast Asia collection.

Don’t you ever feel the need to sing along when a performer is belting out your favourite tunes? With Sing Song Social Club, you can do just that. The choir will be at Light to Night, and everyone is encouraged to take part by lending their voices.

If you pop by the Padang Atrium over the weekends, be ready by the stairs at 4pm to catch performances by our local artists, or just take a break while you’re exploring the National Gallery.

After a long day of walking, head down to the Art x Social: Festival Village. For Light to Night 2026, the area has expanded to St. Andrew’s Road and Empress Lawn outside the Asian Civilisations Museum. This only means more room for people to chill, munch on food, and vibe to music.
Admission to Light to Night 2026 is free, other than the ticketed activities we mentioned above. More details for the activities that require registration will be released soon.
