We’ve seen the strength of BTS’s fanbase – ARMY – whenever the K-pop boy band has any promotional event in Singapore, like the McDonald’s BTS meal back in 2021.
Now, it may be time for ARMY to serve reservist because there’s yet another BTS event coming to our shores. It’s the free LEGO BTS Dynamite Experience that’s happening from 7th-16th July 2023. Here’s what we experienced first-hand.
Pop by Ngee Ann City along Orchard Road in July and you’ll immediately see the LEGO BTS Dynamite Experience, which is split into 3 zones.
Fun fact: it took 161,000 bricks to make these sculptures.
The first of them is the LEGO BTS Big Builds Stage, where fans will want to have their camera ready to snap the 1.2m-tall LEGO minifigure forms of their fave BTS members. Sharp-eyed fans will recognise the backdrop from the basketball court scene in the Dynamite music video.
Once your smartphone has run out of storage space for new pics, move over to the Disco Retail Zone. There’s an interactive photo booth where you can pose for snaps in front of the replica set from the music video. Plus, you’ll get an instant physical print that you can customise with Dynamite-themed stickers to bring home for the mems.
Photos aside, here’s where you can pick up the BTS LEGO set at discounted prices. But that’s not all they’ve got for LEGO fans. You can also purchase their other popular LEGO collections like Ninjango or their range of Star Wars sets.
As you’re waiting in line to pay, give the “Spot the LEGO Balloons” game a go. Guess how many balloons there are in the display near the window. The 10 closest guesses will win a LEGO set. We’ll give you a hint: there are quite a number of tricky ones, so check it twice.
Your last stop is the Record Discovery Zone. But the fun doesn’t end here; there are plenty more BTS-related activities to do.
Build your very own LEGO doughnut, which is inspired by the set of the Dynamite music video. When you’re done decorating your plastic pastry, hang your completed LEGO doughnut on the wall. This will be part of an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the largest LEGO doughnut wall in the world.
You’ll have more opportunities to personalise LEGOs with the BRICKTIFY Me section of the zone. Here, build a custom minifigure of yourself where you can even change your expression, clothes, and hair from minifigure pieces.
There’s even a LEGO set built for you to take photos of your “mini-me” to share on Instagram.
The grand end to the experience is the Dance Off station. Bust a move to BTS’ Dynamite by following along to the directions shown on screen. But if you’re a true ARMY, we know you won’t even need any help hitting the choreography. There’s a replay of your dance you can watch once the last beat drops.
You can also have a dance-off with friends in front of a projection screen, as well as add a LEGO Donut to the LEGO Donut Wall, inspired by the colourful pastry set in the music video.
Each of these activities and visiting all of the interactive zones will earn you an activity stamp, which you’ll want to make sure to collect. Every 3 stamps gets you a chance at the LEGO Claw Machine where you could walk away with attractive LEGO BTS prizes.
The LEGO BTS sets are up to 25% off.
Take home the Dynamite experience with you by purchasing the BTS Dynamite IDEAS set ($159.90) that features all 3 of the memorable sets from the music video and pop-up. Gather your other ARMY besties, cue your BTS playlist, then have a blast putting the 749-piece set together that also includes minifigures of all the members.
Plus, those who spend a minimum of $65 will receive a LEGO Creator Vintage Car set to sweeten the pot – think of it as an add-on to give your favourite LEGO BTS member in the set.
Whether you’re a fan of BTS, LEGO, or just looking for a fun experience to check out in July, call the homies and tell them “leggo” to the LEGO BTS Dynamite pop-up. Plus, it’s free, so even casual K-pop listeners might just become fans from accompanying ARMYs to the event.
