KFC Kallang Reopens With Futuristic Glow-Up, Photo Spots & Its First Physical Merch Space In SG

KFC Kallang reopening & merch

Fast food joints dot the island, but a standalone fast food restaurant just hits different. That’s why KFC lovers old and young were shook when the iconic Kallang outlet shuttered back in September this year. Thankfully, it was just for reno works and not a permanent closure. And now, KFC Kallang has reopened with a complete facelift, and Singapore’s first-ever physical merch space for all your KFC goodies – from apparel to pickleball gear.

Other highlights include expanded seating and a youthful, trendy aesthetic, complete with selfie corners. Here’s what awaits you:

What’s new at the reopened KFC Kallang standalone outlet?

KFC Kallang first opened in 1979, and the standalone outlet holds a special place in many Singaporeans’ hearts – who else refuelled there after a day of sports at Stadium? Step in now and you’d hardly believe that it’s a heritage spot close to 50 years old, though, as the 2-month renovation has given it a fresh and youthful vibe.

The total makeover brought about elements like neon lights and digital panels, bold colour accents in KFC’s signature red-and-white palette, and even dedicated selfie zones for you to snap your best finger lickin’ good moments.

Seating capacity has also been increased from 130 to 216 seats, with a revamped layout designed to be more open and suitable for big group hangouts.

Another update to get excited over is the dedicated merch corner, where you can touch, see, and feel the latest KFC merch drops including designer collabs.

KFC Kallang is home to Singapore’s first physical KFC merch zone. And from the way past merch drops like the KFC blanket have been snatched up rapidly upon release, it’s clear that Singaporeans have an appetite for fast food merch.

The latest launch is a collaboration with homegrown streetwear brand, AMOS ANANDA, founded by local designer Amos Yeo.

Riding on the pickleball hype, the collection features a pickleball-print collared shirt ($35.90) available in black and white, as well as a sleek black T-shirt ($23.90) with pickleball graphics on the front and back to rep your love for the sport.

Meanwhile, the KFC x AMOS ANANDA socks ($6.90) and sports headband ($9.90) are great for both workouts and everyday wear.

What’s a pickleball collection without actual pickleball gear? You’ll be the coolest on the court with the KFC Pickleball Paddle Set ($39.90) which comes with 2 pickleballs, 1 red and 1 black.
