Many of us are in need of a holiday, but as we await more VTL travel opportunities, here’s some good news for things to do in SG – massive art installation KAWS:HOLIDAY has arrived in Singapore from now till 21st November 2021. Having toured Japan, Seoul, Doha, Taipei, the UK and Hong Kong, the giant sculpture is finally making its way to The Float @ Marina Bay.
While there were some legal complications that caused a delay in opening, the court has discharged the injunction and KAWS is now officially open for all to snap cute photos.

So, what is Kaws anyway? The moniker of American artist and designer Brian Donnell, Kaws began his career with his signature characters and motifs in the 1990s. Today, he has amassed a following of 3.5 million on Instagram.
You will likely recognise his most distinctive character, Kaws’ Companion – a greyscale doll with crosses for eyes – or may have come across the artist’s highly-raved Uniqlo x KAWS: Summer UT collection.
This November, a giant 42M-long inflatable sculpture arrives at Marina Bay, featuring a reclining Kaws’ Companion character cradling a miniature version of itself.
Get up close to take a selfie – there are no barricades!
This will also be the last event held at the floating platform before it closes for redevelopment in 2022.

While the sculpture will only be around for nine days, its arrival does come with the launch of some Singapore-exclusive KAWS merchandise for you to keep forever.
Fans can grab limited-stock vinyl figures, camping sets, tank tops and handheld folding fans. Fastest fingers first! They’ll be available online on the DDT Store from 13th November 2021, 11AM.
Humongous anything always stands out in our little red dot, so we’re more than happy to welcome KAWS:HOLIDAY to our city skyline during its worldwide tour. Despite the delays, we’re glad that the attraction is finally open. Swing by and snap some pics with the limited-time exhibit – no admission fees are required!
