Now that the school holiday szn is upon us, it’s time to reward the kids with an unforgettable outing that’ll become one of their core memories. From now till 22nd June 2024, the Inside Out 2-themed Children’s Festival is in full swing at Gardens by the Bay
This free-to-attend kid-friendly festival features 6 interactive zones and free Disney-themed activities, as well as performances, carnival games, and movie ticket giveaways. It’s not just for the little ones, so head on down to indulge the Inside Out fanatic in you, and just revel in the stunning installations amidst the picturesque Supertree Grove setting.
The annual Children’s Festival has touched down at Gardens by the Bay once again. This year, the festival has 6 interactive zones and plenty of IG-worthy installations inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 movie.
Head towards the Kaleidoscope of Memories zone at Supertree Grove, the epicentre of the exhibition, to witness an awe-inspiring illuminated installation.
Inspired by Riley’s Long Term Memory Storage Facility in the Inside Out movies, this IRL replica lets you create your own “memory orb” by snapping a selfie and having it projected onto the installation via a QR code.
After that, hit the swings at Mood Swings, inspired by the Emotion, Joy, and watch the kids roar with laughter before unleashing your inner Picasso at Expression Doodles, themed after the character Sadness. Here, you can paint with a larger-than-life water brush on the giant canvas and watch the doodles come to life.
At the next stop, Emotion Mirrors, learn to embrace the emotions of fear and anxiety and try your best to walk through a maze of mirrors and complete a few rounds of buzz wire games before time runs out.
Then, shuffle over to Fort Pillowtown where you’ll have the option to either chill and rest your head on the pillows or build a fort out of them, much like the listless Emotion, Ennui. Finally, burn off the last ounce of energy at Memory Orb Mountain by frolicking among big, colourful inflatable balls. Swing by near sundown to see them light up into luminous memory orbs, like in the movie.
On top of these free interactive installations, you can also look forward to themed merchandise and an activity trail booklet for kids. Check off all the interactive zones to score an Inside Out 2 sticker sheet and a souvenir keychain with an exclusive Gardens by the Bay design, while stocks last. You can even customise your keychain with little charms inspired by the movie.
Besides checking out all the interactive exhibits, there are plenty of other activities in the Children’s Festival lineup. Keep your eyes peeled for a series of classic carnival games, each with a unique Inside Out 2 twist.
Beyond visits on those dates, you can look forward to the nightly Garden Rhapsody light show at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, plus a scenic Inside Out-themed train ride around Supertree Grove.
There will also be fringe performances and activities including: bubble blowing, juggling, magic shows, and craft workshops for DIY “memory orbs”, musical boxes, and friendship bracelets. Plenty to get up to!
June’s around the corner and that means school holidays are upon us. To celebrate, round up the kids and make a trip to the Children’s Festival at Gardens by the Bay. Trust that the event will boost good vibes, and allow your kids to experience an Inside Out experience in the best ways possible. Best part? It’s absolutely free to attend.
While you’re there, make sure to check out the gorgeous Rose Romance exhibit in the Flower Dome as well, taking place from 2nd to 30th June 2024. Besides showcasing seas of colourful roses, the exhibit also highlights the cultural landscape of Türkiye. A full day of fun for the entire family awaits you at Gardens by the Bay.
