9 Hotels In Singapore With The Best Views Of The Fireworks For An NDP Staycation, Based On Budget

Hotels in Singapore for National Day fireworks

The season of the red lion and pyrotechnics is back. You know it – National Day is right around the corner. For those seeking unobstructed views of the fireworks, we’ve got you covered with a list of the best hotels in Singapore for National Day fireworks.

We’ve checked, all these hotels still have rooms available – for now! Treat yourself to a staycation with views of the fireworks on 9th August or during the NDP rehearsals and previews.

Where are the best places to see National Day fireworks?

With a red and white flag and a National Day Guide in hand, it’s time to start strategising on where to get the best views of the National Day Parade Fireworks. If you weren’t able to snag NDP tickets, some of the most popular places to perch would be Marina Barrage, Esplanade Gardens in front of Victoria Concert Hall Theatre, National Gallery’s rooftop and of course, Marina Bay.

To avoid being smushed and your IG pics being photobombed by stray hands and phones on the actual day itself, you can catch the fireworks during the rehearsal runs on the following dates:

  • NE shows: 6th, 13th & 20th July
  • Previews: 27th July & 3rd August

If you want to get into specifics, fireworks are set off 4 times during the entire parade, with the first starting around 7.30pm. You’ll also spot fireworks at the 7.50pm and 8pm mark, give or take a couple of minutes. The major explosive show begins right after the singing of the National Anthem, at about 8.10pm, and is said to last 10 minutes or so.

Even better, do it in the comfort of a hotel. Remember to let your hotel know when booking that you’d like a room on a higher floor, especially if it’s a distance away from the Padang. Here’s a price breakdown of hotels from where you can watch the sparkling display.

Hotel Room Price
Naumi Singapore Patio Room From $432
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Urban Deluxe Room From $607

If you still want to get the classic MBS National Day pic, you can book their Signature Marina Bay Room on rehearsal dates.

We recommend the Patio Rooms which come with a private outdoor deck surrounded by greenery, complete with a cosy daybed, for some peace and quiet. However, do note that there are no views of the fireworks from here.

The obvious choice of room would be their Bay View Room, which, although slightly obstructed from the Padang, still allows you to see the rockets sparking and soaring. A good alternative to a room view is heading to either the hotel’s MO Bar or BAY@5, their al fresco lounge. Both have great access to the bay’s skyline and better vantage of the festivities on the other side.

They say the best view is always from the top, so naturally, you’ll want to watch the  NDP by staying at Singapore’s tallest hotel, Swissotel The Stamford. This 5-star giant has rooms right up to the 65th floor, meaning you’ll be amongst all the explosions of colour and aerial displays by the Air Force.

Pop a bottle of bubbly and shout Majulah Singapura from the comfort of your own balcony in their Premium Marina Bay Room. Pan Pacific Singapore is a no-brainer when it comes to booking NDP staycations, especially with its location right by Marina Bay.

The hotel is even offering a Fireworks by the Bay Package, available from now until 9th August 2024. You can choose room categories from the Executive Marina Bay Room for sweeping views of the Marina Bay, or the Pacific Club Room for Padang parade views.

For families, check into the Urban Jungle Suite, a themed suite which has separate sleeping zones for parents in the main bedroom; and a jungle-themed room with inflatable rocking hippo, a teepee, and a treehouse bunk bed for 2 kids.

One of Singapore’s most swoon-worthy photo spots ain’t Marina Bay Sands or Jewel Changi. No sir, it’s from the bathtub of The Ritz-Carlton. Specifically, the one by the iconic octagonal-shaped windows that look out to the most beautiful views of the bay.

Their Marina Bay view rooms are by far the most in demand for this season, as they provide the best of both worlds with views from either side of the bay. The rooms start at $1,700 with their Deluxe Marina room and go up to a whopping $3,440/night in their Millenia Suite.
