The more we advance with technology, the more we seem to appreciate having lots of greenery around us. No surprise then, that the upcoming Hotel Indigo Changi Airport is a medley of both.
The latest addition to the mini-city of Changi Airport is slated to open by year 2028 at Terminal 2. It’s some time from now, but we’re already eyeing its “Floating Forest” and cool features for a staycay in Singapore. Here’s what we know so far:

What do you get when you erect a hotel at a 4-terminal-large airport? Lots of aeroplanes, obviously! If you’re a guest staying at one of the hotel’s 255 rooms, you’ll want to make a beeline for the rooftop infinity pool that overlooks the airport runway. Not only will you get to cool off from Singapore’s notorious heat, but you’ll also get to watch planes taking off and landing.
Over on the rooftop, there’ll also be a day club and bar for good vibes all-round. Paired with these are the hotel’s most defining feature: the “Floating Forest.” Draped over 7 storeys will be greenery hanging from the ceiling, plenty of trees, shrubs, and greenery that emulates a whimsical jungle canopy.

Something that eco-conscious travellers can also look forward to is the fact that Hotel Indigo Changi Airport has sustainability high on their list.
With features and tech such as solar panels, hybrid cooling systems, and rainwater harvesting, the hotel may very well become the first zero-energy hotel in the country. Guests and visitors can also expect corridors that are naturally ventilated – all to ensure there’s minimal environmental impact.

Whether you’re a staycationer or a visitor to Singapore, we all know that the more hotel options we have, the merrier. And with the new Hotel Indigo Changi Airport opening in a few years’ time, those looking for accommodation options in the East have a swanky green one to add to their list.
In the meantime, enjoy the cool “forests” of Jewel Changi Airport, or go see some friendly dinosaurs at Changi Jurassic Mile. Otherwise, just take a trip down memory lane with some Changi Airport icons from the past.
