PSA to all Disney fans: Bangkok’s dreamiest new mall just opened, and it’s genuinely worth the trip. Every Singaporean knows BKK and shopping go hand in hand, but Happitat Thailand takes things a step further with a whimsical, nature-filled mall that looks like somewhere you’d wander into during a theme park pre-show.
Officially opened on 21st August 2026, the new 200,000sqm lifestyle-and-entertainment destination sits in Bangna, about a 30-minute drive from central Bangkok, at the entrance of The Forestias. Read on for all you need to know before your next visit to the Thai capital.
A mall literally designed to make you smile
The coolest thing about Happitat Thailand is that it was designed with input from former Walt Disney Imagineers. For the uninitiated, Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative team behind Disney’s theme parks, rides, resorts, cruise ships, parades, and live shows. So, they’re pros at turning stories into full-on real-world experiences.

Step inside Happitat, and you’ll see that sense of play right away. Think life-sized colourful mushrooms, candy-coloured tunnels that feel straight out of a whimsical chocolate factory, and massive animal sculptures that kids can actually climb on.

Expect the same kind of attention to storytelling atmosphere, and immersive design usually associated with Disney-style spaces, but reimagined for a shopping and lifestyle destination. But that’s not all; the mall is also built around biophilic design, which means Happitat Thailand brings nature into the space through plants, open areas, and living forest-inspired elements.

There’s also a very literal take on the happiness part. Happitat uses AI-enabled cameras to read smiles and emotional responses, generating a real-time Happiness Index that helps shape services and visitor experiences. A little futuristic, yes, but the idea is to create a “Smart and Happy Community Centre” where the space is constantly being refined to make visitors feel good.
Shop, play & catch parades across 3 whimsical zones
Happitat Thailand isn’t your usual “air-con mall with the same 5 fashion stores” situation. The whole place is designed like a nature-meets-imagination playground, with greenery and open spaces woven through the development as a gateway to The Forestias’ 30-rai urban forest.
The mall is split into 3 main zones. Bloominas is where you’ll find wellness, dining, and lifestyle offerings, while Wonderwild is the more family-friendly zone with edutainment spaces, creative workshops, and a sky-high playground. Then there’s Festie Town, a semi-outdoor celebration space for parades, performances, pet-friendly experiences, and food.

One of the main spots to check out is the 3-storey Whimsical Market within Festie Town, complete with an illuminated tree, kinetic sculptures, and theatrical dining that feels like it belongs in a children’s storybook. Come evening, the market lights up with a daily light and sound show, with short 3-minute rounds at 12pm, 4pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm.

There are also interactive experiences like The Butterfly Trail and Forest of Time, both designed to get visitors exploring the space with their smartphones. The Butterfly Trail, created by Pixel Artworks, lets visitors release digital butterflies into the environment, marking its debut in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, Forest of Time by borabora Studios takes over Happitat’s Grand Stairs with a massive 385sqm indoor digital display. Visitors can use their phones to help restore a digital ecosystem, revealing endangered and extinct Southeast Asian wildlife while learning about each species through a digital Forest Codex.

Located about a 30-minute drive from central Bangkok, this whimsical mall gives you shopping, food, nature, digital installations, and kid-friendly play spaces all in one place. There’s also a shuttle bus from Udom Suk and Si lam stations in Bangkok, making it convenient to get there. The next time you’re planning a Bangkok trip, maybe save some luggage space for a detour to Bangna.
