There’s A New Ride-Hailing App In SG With 24/7 Service & No Surge Pricing

We’ve all had days like this: our feet are aching from a full day out, it’s raining, and we want nothing more than to get home ASAP in the comfort of a car…but just as we’re about to hit “book”, we’re hit with our wallet’s biggest enemy – peak period surge pricing.

Usually, this would mean an immediate resignation to taking public transport again. But enter the new ride-hailing app Geolah, and our problems might be solved. With no peak period surcharge and transparent fares, here’s what you need to know about the new private hire vehicle service:

What is Geolah?

Geolah is a 24/7 ride-hailing service – much like Grab and Gojek – that offers a large range of ride services, from standard 4-seater rides, to a whole minibus for a party of over 10 pax.

It was founded back in 2020, and operated for a short while under a “beta phase” in February 2023. It later got its provisional license from the Land Transport Authority in 2024, before making its official launch a couple days back on 17th February 2025.

No peak period surges & 0% commission rates

As mentioned above, one of Geolah’s greatest advantages is that there’s no surge pricing. This is possible because the app’s fares are based solely on service type, driver availability, and travel distance, so the weather, or demand during peak hours doesn’t affect ride fares – major score!

On top of transparent pricing, Geolah also has a 0% commission rate for drivers, which means they take home the full bulk of their ride earnings. This is a win-win for both drivers and riders alike – drivers get to earn more, while passengers pay less.

To see if Geolah is truly more affordable, we tried comparing rates for a ride from our office to ION Orchard. At around 11am in the morning, Geolah’s most basic AnyGeo ride was actually slightly pricier than its counterparts’ at $15.46, versus Grab’s $13.70 and Gojek’s $11.70. Of course, this could just be because Geolah is a newer app with fewer drivers.

Nonetheless, it’s defo still worth checking out especially during peak hours, when its rates aren’t subject to the same price surges that other ride-hailing services are.

The most basic ride offered is AnyGeo, a typical 4-seater taxi – but options like a roomier GeoCar VIP, or fancy GeoLimo are also available for hire. Parents with youngins can take GeoKids, which has booster seats for kiddos, while pawrents can bring their pets along on a GeoPets ride.
