While the holiday season is right over the horizon, not many of us have the luxury of jetting off to the far-flung reaches of the world, and we’re not talking about the lack of travel funds here. If you already had your fun and have burned through your ALs earlier this year, perhaps a shorter trip can still soothe your ache to travel.
Well, Genting still remains one of the most popular family destinations for weekend trips, and getting there isn’t too difficult. However, for those with a bit more moolah to burn but not as much time, Resorts World Genting has just the thing for you: a new private helicopter charter service that drops you into the middle of the fun in under half an hour.
Here’s what you need to know before booking your airborne rides – fair warning, they don’t come cheap.
Traditionally, getting to Genting from Singapore was pretty straightforward; you’d either take the 6-hour drive up North yourself or hop on one of the many Genting coaches bound for the misty highlands. Flying in’s also possible, as you’d catch a 1-hour flight from the Little Red Dot to Subang Airport, and then get a private hire vehicle to take you there in about 2 hours.

Should 2 hours sound like a ridiculous amount of time to sit in the back of a car, now you can opt for Resorts World Genting’s new private helicopter charter service to lavishly transport you there. The package is available for booking from now till 31st December 2026, and you’ll get an entire twin-engine helicopter to yourself that seats up to 8 passengers.

Since you’ll be taking to the skies to skip the jams down on the ground, you’re looking at flight times of just 25 minutes. After sitting through a 10-minute safety briefing, the VIP experience will take off from Subang Airport in Selangor, and you can choose to land at either Resorts World Genting or Resorts World Awana.
Of course, the views will be stellar during the ride. No longer will you have to keep your eyes trained on the road; instead, you’ll be flying above them, as the highlands unfurl before you with their lush greenery and rolling clouds. Once you’ve touched down, a complimentary limo transfer awaits you, which will bring you straight to any venue or hotel at either resort.
Now for the million-dollar – thankfully, not literally – question: how much do these helicopter rides to Genting cost? They don’t list prices publicly, but we’ve done the dirty work for you to call in to enquire. A 1-way helicopter ride from Subang Airport to Genting costs RM68,000, or approximately S$21,339.16.
Do the math, and even at maximum capacity, that’s still over S$2,660 per pax – a steep price to pay to arrive for your short trip like a movie star. If you’re not put off by that number, you can call Resorts World Genting’s booking hotline at +603-2718 1118 to make your reservations, and please do so 3 days in advance.
While not many of us will be jumping at the opportunity to fly over to Genting via helicopter, it’s interesting that the resort’s giving the ultra-affluent an extra way to get to their doorstep. Even for us regular folks, don’t discount this unique mode of transport just yet, as it could make for a romantic opportunity to pop the big question.
Just hope they don’t say no; being lovelorn after blowing a S$20,000 hole in your bank account is a fate I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemies.
