When you think of heading up to Malaysia for a quick getaway, JB malls are usually the go-to for their convenient food and entertainment. But if you’re travelling a little further up to KL, 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya has its own fun to offer – Game On Sports Hub. It’s a massive yet affordable indoor playground with everything from mini golf and a Floor is Lava game, to PS5 consoles and a rooftop water park.
Tucked inside one of Malaysia’s largest malls, this is a pretty good place to spend the whole day, whether by yourself or with friends and family.

Game On Sports Hub at 1 Utama Mall is just one of the 8 Game On outlets situated throughout Malaysia. In fact, they’ve got an outlet in JB, Game On Theme Park at Toppen Shopping Centre too. However, the 1 Utama Mall outlet is the only one with a water play area.
Most of their activities have no age, height, or weight restrictions. So if you’re thinking of bringing the whole family over, rest assured that it’ll be suitable for everyone. But for safety reasons, participants are required to sign a waiver before entering, and outside food or drinks aren’t allowed – though there’s a cafe inside for refuelling.
Do note that grip socks are compulsory, and you can purchase a pair for RM7 (~S$2.15) if you did not bring your own. Since the hub sits right inside 1 Utama, you can make a full-day trip out of it by combining playtime with a food and shopping spree in the massive mall.

Step inside the Kung Fu District and test your agility and reflexes in interactive martial arts-themed games. Designed for all ages, this area offers a fun and challenging experience, whether you want to show off to your friends or train your kids’ motor skills.

Games include this Floor is Lava game, which you might have seen on social media. Your mission here is to step carefully on the correct tiles as they change in colour across the floor. The combination of light-up tiles and timed challenges keeps you on your toes – may the most nimble one prevail.

Enjoy the creative 18-hole Tiger Wolf mini golf course with various themes, from circus fun to aloha vibes. Each hole offers a different level of challenge, making it great for beginners and pros alike.

Grab a controller and sink into comfy couches at the state-of-the-art E-Sports Gaming Portal, where a variety of PS5 and Nintendo Switch consoles are set up for solo or group play. Racing, shooting, or exploration games are available so that you can hop from one adventure to the next without leaving your seat. Booking is required, and do note that every group gets a maximum of 30 minutes to play.

The gaming portal also includes a premium setup of the PS5 Racing Simulator. Slide into a cockpit-style seat as the dedicated steering wheel, pedals, and ultra-smooth graphics make it feel like a full-speed race, no driver’s license required. Compete against friends, or try to beat your own lap times for bragging rights.
If you’re feeling tired, the Bored Game area houses all the homebody classics including Uno, chess, and Scrabble, to name a few. It’s perfect for a slower-paced gaming session while hanging out with friends and family, and it looks to be popular with the older folks too.
This section is all about exercise and wellness – games include table tennis, air soccer, and even a dodgeball simulator. Check out the Mini Badminton court, which allows you to get a quick game going without the intensity of a full-fledged match played on a regular-sized court, making it perfect for the young ones. The smaller space keeps the game fast-paced but accessible for everyone.

Though temporarily closed at the time of writing, the rooftop Water Play area is one of the standout features at Game On Sports Hub 1 Utama, and it’s exclusive to this outlet. When open, it transforms into a splashy playground with shark-themed bouncy slides, obstacle courses, and water gun battles that are bound to be fun for the whole family. Take note that Water Play is only open on weekends and Superdays, AKA school and public holidays, from 4pm to 10pm.
After all that running and jumping, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a New Town Black Coffee cafe right inside the hub, serving up an assortment of pastries and drinks. You can even earn a free beverage voucher worth RM8 (~S$2.45) by leaving a Google review of Game On Sports Hub at 1 Utama.
