Nothing quite beats a cute movie date, especially one set against the backdrop of an open-air cinema underneath the starry night sky. If cosying up beside your SO to catch an endearing rom-com sounds like something up your alley, then you’d want to plan for a movie night at Films At The Fort 2024.

Films At The Fort, which usually takes place in August, is an annual movie screening happening at an open-air cinema within Fort Canning Park. This year, the event will occur at Fort Canning Green from 1st to 18th August 2024, with screenings commencing at 7.45pm.
Tickets are going for $42.80/pax, and there’ll be F&B options available on-site in case you need to quell your rumbling stomach before the show.

Feel free to arrive a little early to drink in the festivities and plop your picnic mats down, as the gates to Films At The Fort open at 5.30pm. There’ll be DJs and instrumentalists around to bring the vibes up to a fever pitch before the lull of the cinema sets in.
Also, don’t forget to pick up your complimentary drinks, as every ticket comes with a free Glenfiddich cocktail or 2 non-alcoholic beverages.

Speaking of drinks, there’ll be a couple of food vendors on-site, courtesy of The Providore, should you want to get any pre-movie munchies. We’re not exactly sure what the fare will look like this year, but if last year’s offerings were anything to go by, expect finger foods like pizza, cheese platters, and ice cream to snack on.
Having said that, you are allowed to bring your own food into the event, so feel free to pack a picnic basket to impress your date with their favourite dishes. And no, booze from outside isn’t allowed, so stick to the offerings from the bar onsite.

Also, if you’re planning on packing light, you can do away with a picnic mat and rent a backrest for $6 instead. Backrest rentals are automatically bundled with your tickets, so do remember to uncheck them when you’re booking your tickets if you’re bringing your own seating.
With up to 8 different movies to catch in a wondrous open-air cinema, there’s no excuse when it comes to planning your upcoming date nights; just head to Films By The Fort 2024. Tickets are selling fast though, so you’ll want to snag a couple soon to ensure your spots once August rolls around.
While we’re still in July, the National Museum of Singapore has a new, free exhibition centred around childhood toys to check out called Play:Date – Unlocking Cabinets of Play. You’ll want to swing by Plantation Plaza especially if you’re a Tengah resident, while Easties can explore the recently-opened Pasir Ris Mall.
