FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall
Over the years, a few FairPrice supermarket stores have quietly levelled up, adding eco-friendly features, introducing in-house bars, and launching cooked-to-order menu items. The newest addition to the club? FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall – a supermarket that turns your grocery run into a mini outing. We dropped by the outlet to see what the hype is all about, and here’s everything that caught our eye.
What’s the difference between FairPrice & FairPrice Finest?

Think of it this way: while your regular FairPrice covers all the basics, FairPrice Finest takes things up a notch by offering experiences.
These include a bar and cafe for a quick snack or drink, and a few other little touches that make shopping way more fun. More on that below.
What to expect at Fairprice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall
This 2-storey FairPrice Finest has your usual fresh produce, wine aisles, and ready-to-eat bites. But it’s also decked out with Google Cloud-powered features that make the shopping experience smoother.
Fun fact: it’s the world’s first Generative AI (Gen-AI)-powered supermarket.
Try out the Smart Carts for enhanced shopping experiences

The first thing you’ll notice at this FairPrice Finest outlet is the shopping carts – they look nothing like the ones you’re used to. These Smart Carts come with interactive displays, in-store navigation, and even let you check out directly on the cart.
Here’s how it works:
- Download the FairPrice Group app (App Store | Google Play) on your phone.
- Grab a Smart Cart and tap on “Pay/Earn” on the app.
- Use the handheld barcode scanner attached to the cart to scan the QR code displayed on your phone.
- Start shopping, but remember to scan each item before adding it to your cart.
- Once you’re ready to check out, follow the instructions on the display, then scan the same QR code on your phone to make a payment.
We tried it out for ourselves and really liked how fuss-free everything was – no need to brave long queues at the cashier or scan each item one by one at the self checkout anymore.

Another neat feature we liked is the in-store navigation – just type the item you’re looking for into the search bar on the cart’s screen, and you’ll get a list of brands available in-store. Once you tap on your pick, hit “Go There”, and a map will pop up to guide you straight to the aisle.

And because we all know the pain of finding that one item on a shelf full of lookalikes, the price tags here aren’t ordinary either. A blinking red light will appear when you’re near the product you’re looking for. It only blinks for 30 seconds, so don’t get distracted midway through your grocery shopping.
But it’s not all perfect. It does take a bit of time to figure out how to use the cart, and you’ll constantly need to remind yourself to scan before tossing items in. A small gripe from us: the carts are heavier to push compared to a regular trolley.

If that sounds like too much of a hassle, don’t worry – there are still normal carts around if you prefer to stick to the traditional way, or if your ah ma is tagging along. There’s also self-checkout available, though we did notice only 1 cashier counter on the first level, so maybe plan for that too.
Get the Gen-AI assistant to help you make informed shopping decisions
On Level 2, there’s a Health and Wellness AI Recommender by Unity – basically a Gen-AI shopping assistant that dishes out personalised advice on which health supplements might suit you best.

Start by stepping onto the Tanita Machine, then key in your age, height, and gender, and let it run a quick body composition analysis. In just a few moments, you’ll get results like your weight, BMI, body fat percentage, and muscle mass.

Head to the Gen-AI Recommender on the right and answer a few questions about your health and daily routine, then take a photo of your body composition results. It will then crunch the numbers to give you tailored supplement recommendations based on your body and needs.

Here’s what your tailored recommendations could look like.
You don’t have to memorise all that info either. You can save your “consultation” via a QR code and share it with your doctor or nutritionist later.
Even if you’re not planning on buying any supplements, it’s still fun to try it out during your grocery run to check whether all those bubble tea runs have been kind to your waistline, and maybe even get some “advice” your body secretly needs.

We made our way to the wine section next and were lost in the sea of bottles, but there was an AI-powered Wine Sommelier there to help. If you’re blur like us and know nothing about wine, look out for tags with QR codes at the end of the shelves. Scan one, and you’ll be directed straight to the digital sommelier.
Then answer a few questions – whether you’re after a wine from a specific region, pairing it with food, or for a special occasion – and a list of recommendations will pop up. Click on your pick, and the familiar red blinking light will guide you right to the bottle.
Sample wine & cocktails at a nominal fee

There’s no need to put all your faith in the AI sommelier either – the Wine & Cocktail Sampling Station lets you try before you buy, with sample-sized pours starting from just $2. FairPrice Finest stocks the station with their bestsellers and popular options, and the selection gets rotated regularly, so there’s always something new to try.

For the underage readers out there: don’t even think about sneaking a sip. You’ll need to verify your age via SingPass before making a payment. The station is also cashless only.
Once you’re good to go, grab a wine glass, dispense your chosen option, and remember to return the glass to the Grocer Bar right next to the station.
Touch & feel home appliances & electronics

After testing out the wines, we headed over to explore another part of FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall – ShopBeyond @ Omni Store. This is the FairPrice Group’s latest concept that blends in-store shopping with the perks of online browsing. It essentially allows you to see, touch, and try out products in real life, but still get access to a wider selection that goes beyond what fits on the shelves.

You can also test out phones from Samsung while you’re there.
You’ll find trendy and premium products you won’t usually see in a physical FairPrice, from brands like SharkNinja and JisuLife. Each product has a QR code you can scan to view details, add it to your cart, and check out through the FairPrice Group app. Purchases will be delivered straight to your doorstep, so you don’t have to worry about hauling bulky appliances home.
Grab pastries, desserts & drinks while shopping

If you need a snack break while running errands, head to The Grocer Cafe. It’s run by Edith Patisserie, a home-grown brand specialising in fresh, handmade cakes, cupcakes, tarts, and pastries.

Highlights include buttery classics like Cinnamon Rolls and Butter Croissants starting from $3.50, as well as matcha treats – including the ever-popular Strawberry Matcha – priced at $8.80. For a little extra value, there’s a $6 sandwich + beverage combo running until 10th September 2025, while stocks last.
Unwind with outlet-exclusive cocktails

FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall is also home to FairPrice Group’s 6th Grocer Bar, serving up drinks you won’t find anywhere else. In collaboration with William Grant & Sons, the cocktails are inspired by Singapore flavours and Punggol’s heritage.
Try the Punggol Blue – Hendrick’s Gin, coconut water, and lime juice – or the Punggol Spritz with Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret Gin, white peach syrup, sparkling wine, and edible gold dust. Both are $15 a glass. There’s also a rotating selection of craft beers from RedDot Brewhouse.

2 full tanks of fresh oysters waiting to be shucked at The Grocer Bar.
Or, grab the 4-piece oyster set paired with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for just $15.90 until 10th September 2025. Prices already include GST, and there’s no service charge.
Shop a wide selection of international food products

Beyond the cafe, bar, and AI-powered tech, make sure to check out the international snack aisles before leaving. From Japan to Korea and beyond, there’s plenty to explore.

We spotted fan favourites like Lotte Zero – a range of zero-sugar snacks that let you indulge without the guilt.
Get ready-to-eat meals for a quick lunch

If you’re a nearby SIT student or office worker at Punggol Digital District, FairPrice Finest has your lunch plans sorted. There are Japanese ready-to-eat meals, from bentos to sushi and small bites – all ready to grab and go. There’s even a microwave to heat the food up, and plenty of seating for those who want to sit down and enjoy their meal.
How to get to Fairprice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall?

Take the escalator that leads you to White Cloud Cafe on the 2nd level.
Punggol Coast Mall and the whole Punggol Digital District area are huge, so it’s easy to get lost. We found the easiest way is to take Exit 2 from Punggol Coast MRT Station. That’ll bring you to the atrium, where events and pop-ups are regularly held.

From there, go up the escalator on the left, walk straight all the way, and you’ll spot FairPrice Finest on your left.

This isn’t the official entrance, but getting here is way less complicated. Just enter, walk to the front of the outlet, and grab a shopping cart or basket before starting your spree.
FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall offers a grocery run that actually feels fun
We’re already planning our next visit to FairPrice Finest at Punggol Coast Mall – partly because it’s fun, but mostly because we’re curious to see what new tech they’ll roll out next. It’s a supermarket where a grocery run doesn’t feel like a chore, and honestly, that’s rare enough to make us come back.
