EZ-Link’s New App Gives You Rewards Like Plus! LinkPoints & Dining Deals For Tapping Your Card

EZ-Link’s New App and Rewards

Image adapted from: SG50 Icons, Food Republic

With Singapore’s well-connected public transport system, we’re often found with our ez-link card tucked in our wallets.

But it’s now time to make your commute work for you –  the NEW EZ-Link app earns you rewards such as shopping vouchers or dining discount vouchers when you tap your card. Here’s what it can do:

How it works

Step 1: Get the app on Android Play Store or Apple App Store.

Step 2: Register with your NRIC/FIN.

Step 3: Start adding your ez-link cards by entering the card ID. This can be found at the back of your cards.

Now, you’ll be able to check on your card’s balance, expiry date and past transactions. Useful if you want to know just how much that trip from Pasir Ris to Tuas cost you.

Earn points and claim rewards

Candy Crush high scores aren’t the only points you can rack up while commuting. With every 10 cents spent using your card,  EZ-Link app users earn 1 point. These points can be used to exchange for rewards within the EZ-Link app catalogue, with deals for Lazada, Food Republic and even ofo Bike!

Here are some things you can claim:

Time for a Lazada shopping spree! No minimum spending.

Look good on your commute and all day long with fashion steals from online retailer Lazada – new shoppers can score $10 off with just 100 points!

As for the foodies, collect between 100-200 points and get discounts off your drinks and meals at Food Republic – from canned drinks and hot beverages to local faves such as chicken rice.

But if you’d rather burn those calories instead of gaining them, hop on an ofo Bike. 50 points will get you a bike pass for 60 days so that you can explore even the most hidden parts of Singapore and get a workout while you’re at it.

Tip: You can earn points beyond the usual MRT ride, such as at McDonald’s and Saint Games. Essentially retail transactions, public transport  and motoring (ERP and carpark).

Bonus: Stand to win 5 million LinkPoints

If you’re a NTUC Plus! Member, you could actually win 5 million LinkPoints – that’s worth $33,333  – during a Grand Draw. If you’re lucky, that is.

This will be you if you win.

All you’ve to do is link your Plus! account to your EZ-Link account and earn chances to win 5 million LinkPoints. Just by shopping and moving around like you usually do. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 1 public transport ride with EZ-Link = 1 chance (capped at 10/month)
  • 1 retail purchase with EZ-Link = 5 chances (Plus, earn 1 LinkPoint for every $2 spent)

50 other winners will also snag 10,000 LinkPoints (worth $66)!

Don’t worry about losing your card

If you’re the kind of person who always loses things, this will be a lifesaver. Once you’ve signed up on the app, you’ll get free card blocking. Gone are the #ded days of lost cards with your life savings left inside.

Now, all you need to do is call in. The card will be blocked and you can recover the value in it too! And if you’ve signed up for FWD insurance, you can claim up to $15 for unauthorised usage on your precious ex-card.

Skip the queues for topping up

If you’ve ever faced the pain of insufficient value at the gantries, this one’s for you.

Sign up for EZ-reload (auto top-up) through the app, that’ll “help” you top up when your card’s value approaches zero. No ticketing machines or grumpy MRT staff to deal with, yes

You can even monitor your card’s balance through the app, so you’ll know when you’re near the danger zone of “insufficient value.”

Bonus: If auto top-ups aren’t your style and you’re an Android user (NFC-enabled handsets), you can also top up through the app manually!

Score deals and make life easier with the new EZ-Link app
