Date night restaurants with 1-for-1 deals
We all know the excitement of date night – getting dressed up while feeling the pre-date jitters is an experience that never seems to get old. The only problem? Dates can be expensive, and while we don’t want to compromise on time with bae, weekly or even monthly nights out on the town can add up quickly.
The good news for DBS/POSB Cardmembers is that the romance doesn’t have to come at as much of a cost – with over 24,000 DBS/POSB 1-for-1 dining deals to choose from, you’ll be pretty spoilt for choice. Here, we’ve even spared you the task of sifting through the countless options, so the only thing you’ll need to do is to pick a date and a time.

Get their Al Pastor ($32) – made with apple-brined pork belly and cooked over a orange wood fire if you’re looking for a refreshing twist on a Latin classic, or the Inasal ($36) – a Filipino-inspired dish made with tender duck and sweet mango over tangy coconut sinigang rice, if you’re craving something new.
Then, wash it all down with one of their signature cocktails, like the Dirty Horchata ($24), a boozy take on the traditional rice drink.

3. Clubhouse SG – Pizza & booze on an indoor golf course
They say that a fun activity is the best way to quell any first date awkwardness – and if that doesn’t work, a little alcohol always does the trick to loosen everyone up. Clubhouse SG has both options lined up for you; shoot your shot on the golf course and then complete the night with some hand-tossed pizzas and of course, booze.

The best part is that unlike regular golfing, there’s no chance of mother nature raining on your parade as the course is fully indoors. Rain or shine, you can play to your heart’s content – and munch on the wide selection of pizzas, sandwiches and other mains to keep the energy up.
Go for the Queens of Greens ($15) salad if you prefer something light, or get the Parma Sandwedge ($15), a hearty sandwich made with parma ham, cheese and all the fixins’ if all the golf and conversation works up an appetite. And yes, that’s a pun on golf wedges.
DBS/POSB Cardmember deals:
- 1-for-1 pizza/sandwich/mains
- 1-for-1 cocktails, beers, house pour spirits and premium bottles
- 20% off wine and spirits bottles

4. G Izakaya – Authentic Japanese 4-min from Nicoll Highway MRT
We can all appreciate a restaurant that’s close by an MRT station – after all, there’s really nothing worse than arriving late to your date because you couldn’t find the place. It doesn’t get any more accessible than G Izakaya, an authentic Japanese spot that’s a mere 4-minute walk away from Nicoll Highway MRT.

In true izakaya fashion, they serve up everything from sashimi to tasty fried food, along with Japanese beer to wash it all down. Favourites include the Kanpachi Kama ($28.80), a grilled fatty whitefish, and the Salmon Sashimi ($10.80), loved for its thick cuts. Like any respectable izakaya, the restaurant has bar seats where you can watch the sushi chefs expertly prepare your food.

Those who want to spice things up a little can go for the Mutton Dum Biryani ($16.50), with fluffy rice and tender marinated meat.

If you’re active on foodstagram, you would have heard of RAPPU by now – a handroll bar that went viral last year, and for good reason. They specialise in just one thing: handrolls. They come in a set of 6 ($38), and fillings include familiar favourites like salmon and crab, in addition to lesser-known ones like engawa – flounder fluke fin, and kanpachi – amberjack.

With crisp nori, sticky Japanese rice and fresh fish filling, their handrolls are some of the best you can get. The atmosphere here is nothing like a budget spot either – instead of harsh fluorescent light, there is dim mood lighting and upbeat rap music to really seal the deal.
