Singapore Design Week 2025 (SDW) has taken over 4 arts districts in Singapore – Bras Basah, Bugis, Marina, and Singapore Science Park – and will do so until 21st September 2025.
This year’s theme, “Nation by Design,” ties in with SG60 celebrations happening throughout Singapore, spotlighting how design has shaped our nation’s growth. Keep an eye out for classic local icons – like otters and nostalgic childhood games – featured across various exhibitions and showcases.
Some events to check out include the Well-Being Bar at Millennia Walk, where you’ll get an affirmation “shot” and enjoy some much-needed self-care. There’s also the Unnatural History Museum at the National Design Centre, where you’ll get to explore “relics” of Singapore’s past – like the Merlion fossil – and what may await us in our future.
While you’re out and about, make sure to capture your best moments, post them on Instagram or Facebook, tag and follow @designsingapore, and show the post to a crew member at the National Design Centre to redeem SDW exclusive keychains, featuring icons like the dragon playground and Merlion.

Fun fact: Pangdemonium was started by local actor Adrian Pang and his wife Tracie. They’ve garnered a name for themselves and regularly stage productions year-round.
From 17th October to 7th November 2025, they’ll be staging Kimberly Akimbo as their end-of-year showcase. It tells the story of a teenage girl, forced to live in a body 4.5 times her age due to a rare genetic disorder, navigating family drama, high school angst, and a rapidly ticking biological clock.
The musical earned 5 Tony Awards in 2023, including Best Musical, so you wouldn’t want to miss this. Tickets start from $25, and you can use your SG Culture Pass credits.

If you are or know of a theatre nerd, you’ve certainly heard of this modern Broadway classic. The West End cast of Dear Evan Hansen will be arriving on our shores from 30th October to 16th November 2025. During its initial run on Broadway, it won 6 Tony awards, including Best Musical.
Dear Evan Hansen is about the titular character, Evan Hansen, being caught in a web of lies when a grieving Murphy family falsely believed him to be the close friend of their troubled son, Connor, who had recently taken his own life.

Praised for the way it addresses the complexities of mental health and grief, this musical has struck a chord with audiences worldwide by approaching sensitive subjects in a tasteful and timely manner. It promises a story that will tug on your heartstrings and songs that will get stuck in your head for days.

The Singapore Biennale is back, and it’s bringing contemporary art into the heart of our everyday spaces. From 31st October 2025 to 29th March 2026, feast your eyes on exhibitions featuring works from more than 80 local and international artists.
This year’s edition is extra special as part of the SG60 celebrations – a nod to all that we’ve achieved and what is yet to come. Instead of keeping art behind gallery doors, the event will transform familiar spaces like the Rail Corridor and the Civic District into living works of art, giving you fresh perspectives on places you thought you knew inside out.

Bras Basah Complex isn’t the only place in Singapore to get art books – in fact, there’s a whole fair dedicated to it. Hurry down to the Singapore Art Book Fair 2025, from 31st October to 2nd November 2025, if you want to get your hands on some contemporary art books and zines.

It is the longest-running contemporary art fair in Singapore and features works priced below $15,000, with a majority of them going for less than $7,500.

Those who missed out on the Miku Expo Asia 2025 concert in Singapore will be able to satisfy their manga, anime, and cosplay needs at Anime Festival Asia 2025 from 28th to 30th November 2025.

With The Projector ceasing operations, it’s more important than ever to show support and recognition to our local independent filmmakers. And there’s no better way to do that than at the Singapore International Film Festival 2025.
From 26th November to 7th December 2025, the festival will be returning with its 36th edition, and it’s more than just screenings. There’ll also be a variety of programmes that recognise excellence and cultivate emerging talents, like the Silver Screen Awards, Southeast Asian Film Lab, and the Youth Critics Programme.
More information will be released in October, but you can expect to catch films spanning different genres, with a strong spotlight on Southeast Asian cinema. In the meantime, there are many ways for you to get involved through volunteering opportunities where you’ll get to learn what goes on behind the scenes through front-of-house and social media positions.

The Tony Award-winning Beauty and the Beast: The Musical will be going on its first-ever international tour. After an initial run that ended in 2007, the tale as old as time will be coming to the Sands Theatre from 11th December 2025 to 18th January 2026.
Like the Disney classic, it tells the love story between Belle, a girl from a small town in France, and Prince Adam, cursed to adopt a beastly form until he finds another to love him. For the show’s revival, it has been refreshed with better stage effects, along with all-new sets and costumes.
Enjoy familiar tunes from the movie and some newer songs as you discover this magical love story live on stage. Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting from $60.
