Apple’s Foldable iPhone Duo Starts At $3,099 – Should You Sell Your Arms & Legs To Buy It?

Apple iPhone Duo in Singapore

Apple has finally jumped into the foldable phone game, and it’s asking a small fortune for the privilege. The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first-ever folding iPhone, was unveiled on 9th September 2026 with a price tag starting at $3,099, and that’s for the lowest-tier model.

Before you start breaking open your piggy bank and deluding yourself that now is the rainy day that you’ve been saving for, here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone Duo’s price, specs, and launch date in Singapore.

How much does the iPhone Duo cost in Singapore?

The iPhone Duo is priced from an eye-watering $3,099, and is available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options. Here’s how much it will cost relative to the storage size:

  • 256GB: $3,099
  • 512GB: $3,399
  • 1TB: $3,999
  • 2TB: $4,899

You can finance the iPhone Duo over 24 months with 0% interest, provided monthly payments are made. This will equal around $129.13/month to get the 256GB iPhone Duo.

Another way to not feel the pinch as much when buying the iPhone Duo is to trade in your old iPhone.

How big is the iPhone Duo?

When closed, the iPhone Duo fits into your palm and is around the size of a passport. When opened, it’s just slightly smaller than an iPad Mini. But what’s more important is the size of the display.

The iPhone Duo, when opened, has the largest iPhone display ever at 7.6 inches, which is about 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Closed, the iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display.

At launch, the iPhone Duo will come in Star White and Night Sky, the latter of which is similar to Apple’s Midnight Blue colour. All iPhone Duos will have a polished titanium exterior.

What cameras does the iPhone Duo have?

The iPhone Duo will sport 4 cameras. The main camera system will be the 48MP Fusion Main camera and the 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. These cameras were designed to shoot better photos and videos, including in low-light conditions. You can also open the iPhone Duo and use the outer display to preview and frame your shots.

On the front of the iPhone Duo is a 12MP Centre Stage camera that takes photos and videos in both landscape and portrait orientations, saving you time from having to reposition your phone to squeeze everyone into the shot.

On the inner display, there is also an under-display FaceTime camera tucked away. Early videos show that it will blend into your screen when it’s not in use, but it’s still slightly visible and doesn’t entirely disappear, as it has a glossy texture compared to the rest of the display’s matte texture.

How does the iPhone Duo fold?

One of the biggest concerns that plague foldable phones is how it folds and whether there will be a crease.

Apple’s fix with the iPhone Duo centres on the screen’s surface texture rather than trying to hide the fold mechanically. The display uses an ultra-fine matte finish so the screen looks flat even along the crease, which does a lot of the heavy lifting in disguising it.

Underneath, the panel is built as a multi-layer sandwich held together with a specially engineered adhesive that lets each layer shift slightly against the others as the phone folds, similar to how pages slide past each other in a book. This stops the screen from puckering or distorting at the fold line over time, one of the most common complaints with older foldables.

Whether it all adds up to an invisible crease is still up for debate. Early hands-on reactions have been mixed. Some say the crease all but disappears, while others say it’s still catchable at the wrong angle, especially on video. The general consensus so far: it’s the least noticeable crease on a foldable yet, but it hasn’t vanished entirely.

What accessories can I use with the iPhone Duo?

The new iPhone Duo will have new cases to accompany it, including the iPhone Duo Case in navy blue and sand for $109, and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand in navy blue and taupe for $179.

Later this year, you can also use your Apple Pencil with the iPhone Duo to draw and take notes. More details should be released in due course, but it will be interesting to see how case manufacturers incorporate the Apple Pencil into an iPhone Duo case, as it has traditionally only been used by iPad users.

The iPhone Duo will also be MagSafe-compatible, so you won’t have to worry about buying new MagSafe chargers or accessories.

When does the iPhone Duo come out in Singapore?

Preorders for the iPhone Duo in Singapore start at 8pm on 16th October 2026, and it will be available from 23rd October 2026.

How heavy is the iPhone Duo?

The iPhone Duo weighs around 254g, which is about the weight of a can of Coca-Cola. Comparatively, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs in at 201g, while the original Samsung Galaxy Fold was 276g.

What is the battery life of the iPhone Duo?

The iPhone Duo’s battery life is estimated at around 31 hours of video playback when using the inner display, and 44 hours of video playback when using the outer display. If you use both displays equally, you should get around 24 hours of usage per charge.

When you need to juice it up, the iPhone Duo charges up to 50% in around 20 minutes when plugged in, or up to 50% in around 30 minutes when wirelessly charging.

Does the iPhone Duo have Face ID?

Surprisingly, the iPhone Duo drops Face ID in favour of Touch ID. A button on the side of the iPhone Duo will let you unlock your phone with your fingerprint, just like the good ‘ol days of the iPhone 5s. So no, the iPhone Duo does not have Face ID.

Should I get the iPhone Duo or the iPhone 18 Pro?

If you’re asking me, I’d recommend getting the iPhone 18 Pro for now. First generations of any new products can be finicky, and I have no doubt that Apple will continue to refine the iPhone Duo in future editions to be lighter and have less of a crease. Also, it costs more than $3,000…

However, if you want to watch The Odyssey the way Christopher Nolan intended, the iPhone Duo’s aspect ratio of 1.4:1 makes it perfect for watching this year’s biggest IMAX blockbuster (so far).

Get ready for the iPhone Duo in Singapore

After years of leaks and rumours, it’s official: Apple has made a folding iPhone.
