If your HDB corridor already looks like a mini nursery but you still somehow have room for one more plant, this one’s for you. Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) is bringing back its Adopt a Plant giveaway this Saturday, 16th May 2026, at Jurong Lake Gardens.
Visitors can head down to Pagoda Plaza from 5pm to bring home a free plant, while stocks last. The event is part of the lead-up to the 10th edition of SGF, which returns from 4th to 12th July 2026 at Gardens by the Bay.

SGF is one of Singapore’s biggest gardening and floral events, featuring large-scale floral displays, landscape exhibits, and gardening showcases. This year marks its 10th edition.
The festival is organised by the National Parks Board and usually features floral installations, gardening workshops, marketplace booths, and landscape displays by international and local designers.
For plant lovers, it’s basically Disneyland, except instead of roller coasters, you come home with Monstera cuttings and suddenly start learning words like propagation.

The Adopt a Plant giveaway will take place at Jurong Lake Gardens, specifically at Pagoda Plaza. Organisers have shared previews of the plants that will be available from Noi Gardens, with leafy greens and small potted plants lined up for adoption.

There’s no registration needed. Just show up from 5pm onwards and collect a plant while stocks last. Considering Singaporeans queue for free ice cream, tote bags, and even tissue packets sometimes, you probably want to come earlier lah.
According to the organisers, more Adopt a Plant locations will also be announced in the coming weeks.
Yes, the plants are completely free while stocks last.
Besides the free plant, visitors who collect one can also enjoy a discount for the upcoming Singapore Garden Festival.
Simply present your plant label at the ticketing counter at Gardens by the Bay to get 20% off festival tickets. The promotion is valid until 12th July 2026.
Here are the original ticket prices for SGF 2026:
| Singapore Residents | Non-residents | |

Just remember to head down early before the queue snakes around the park like it’s bubble tea launch day again.
