One of the true gems of 90s cartoons was undoubtedly the weird and wonderfully macabre Addams Family. Despite being more than a decade old, it’s impossible to forget each of the family’s kooky characters – from creepy Uncle Fester to the ever-so-helpful Thing.

We bet you’re already humming the show’s theme song and feeling nostalgic – which is perfect! Because now’s your chance to catch the stage adaptation of the series which features an all-new storyline centred on Wednesday Addams.
You probably remember the awkwardness of bringing bae home to meet the parents. But that hardly compares to this family’s reaction to Wednesday introducing her perfectly normal boyfriend and his family at a disastrous dinner party.
Those of you who’ve had to balance romantic choices with your parents’ wishes will certainly understand what poor Wednesday is going through – even if you’re unfamiliar with The Addams Family.
Family drama aside, it’s also a treat to watch the show’s eccentricities brought to life on-stage. Gomez’s sword fighting antics, Fester’s crazy inventions, and Lurch’s deadpan humour all work to make us feel like guests in the Addams’ household.
If the star-studded cast seems familiar, you might have seen some of them before. Rebecca Thornhill, who plays Morticia Addams, has appeared in Matilda The Musical while Cameron Blakely, who plays Gomez Addams, made his last stage appearance in Singapore as Monsieur Thénardier in Les Misérables.
Another familiar face you might recognise is Carrie Hope Fletcher who plays Wednesday Addams – the YouTube singing sensation (ItsWayPastMyBedTime) also starred in Les Misérables alongside Cameron Blakely.
Tickets are already on sale with Cat 1 tickets going for $165 and Cat 4 tickets at just $65, with discounts available for students and NSF personnel. The production will run from 15th November to 3rd December at the MES Theatre at Mediacorp, so book your tickets and get ready to snap your fingers to the iconic theme song.
