Cross-border bus to JB from east Singapore

When we mention bus services to Malaysia, the ones that come to mind are probably those that take you further inland. But for those of you who are frequent JB-hoppers, here’s one for you instead: a direct cross-border bus to JB with pickup points in Tampines and Punggol, with prices from just $3.60.

What route does the bus take from SG to JB?

From Changi Airport to JB CIQ via Tampines & Punggol

Just in case you wanted to hop off a flight and right across the border to JB, the cross-border bus starts its journey from Changi Airport Terminal 1, at Bay D. It then makes stops at Tampines MRT Station Exit B, and Punggol MRT Station Exit C, before making a beeline straight for Woodlands CIQ.

From there, the bus then crosses the border to JB CIQ, and ultimately ends the ride at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Bus Terminal (TUTA) in JB.

There’s a bus pickup every 1.5 hours, starting from 8am daily at Changi Airport. Do note that this might be affected by traffic conditions and unforeseen delays.

How much are tickets for the cross-border bus?

Get a season pass before Nov 2026

WTS Travel, who run these buses, is now running a season pass promotion, which you can purchase on the WTS Travel website.

Whichever pass you get, you’re only allowed to take 2 trips a day, AKA 1 round trip daily. If you do the math, that’s approximately $2.50 a trip for the 30-day pass, or $3.60 a trip for the 7-day pass.

One thing to note, however, is that there are no reserved seats or timings for any tickets – some reviewers have mentioned that it can be difficult to board the bus at times. If you are unable to secure a seat on any bus, you can, however, stand for the ride.
